'CHOP-CHOP' MAMA JONAH !!!

Madam Diezani Breaks Down in London, Admitted into Hospital.

Former Petroleum Resources Minister, Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke is very ill and has been hospitalized in a London hospital for an undisclosed ailment, family sources said over the weekend.

The reliable family sources told THE WILL that the former Minister has been hospitalized for weeks and hasn’t just avoided Nigeria for fear of being probed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

It was gathered that Madam Deziani had undergone treatment in a London hospital for an undisclosed form of cancer during her tenure as Minister.

She is being closely monitored and has not been allowed to see friends except close family members for weeks.

Cellphones and other transmitting devices are also not allowed in her hospital room because of radiation, the sources told THEWILL.

According to one source who pleaded anonymity, “Diezani is responding well to treatment but her doctors are still concerned about her. It is such an emotional time for us all as she is quite fragile and we are careful to keep her away from all the gossip and falsehoods being attributed to her in the media. We pray the media respects the family’s feelings at this time,” the source said.

“What you read in the media about her revealing details of her stewardship are all nonsense. If she has not been allowed to receive visitors, take phone calls let alone make calls, I wonder how any media can claim that she has been singing like a canary. We really feel that our journalists should report facts and not go out of their way to produce sensational headlines in bad taste. This is not professional”.

President Buhari's administration is probing NNPC, which was under the supervision of Diezani.

CORRUPTION UNLIMITED UNDER JONATHAN !!!

Jonathan's Days In Aso Rock: An Era Of Open Corruption.

Under Jonathan, corruption had emerged from the shadows to become a badge of pride, of honour and an insignia of power! Billionaires emerged overnight and these billionaires had no factories, no businesses, an often they had no traceable addresses.

Indeed their entire reason for becoming stupendously rich was merely because they were either appointees of government or connected to those in power.

Contractors emerged who executed no contracts. In fact these class of contractors became the richest. They won many contracts, executed non and shared the fat fees collected with their collaborators in high places.

An example is a contractor who
won most contracts in Ogbia Local Government, the home of former President Jonathan and he executed non yet he is known to have been fully paid for all the contracts. He remains till date a friend of the former President!

It became the norm in the Jonathan era to find people who went to Abuja with public transport suddenly return few months later with long convoy of jeeps and a retinue of policemen as escort. These are the ones who spend days chasing contracts and nights authoring dubious proposals for projects ranging from supply of sea water to supply of compromised phones. And when they eventually get the bilion billion contracts, they supply nothing. They get paid only to share the loot with politicians, civil servants and their mentors.

These are the class who moved straight from one room holes in slums to mansions in Asokoro and Maitama. These are the folks you find sraying dollars at Hilton and spilling champagne in top high priced lounges that dot the city of Abuja.

And the top office holder of the nation at the time, President Jonathan turned a blind eye to all these happenings. The EFCC with which I had once worked closely openly cried out, they said they were being starved of funds, as such they were hampered from performing their duties! NDLEA, a once award winning organisation became anything but and Mr President to the consternation of many, appointed Roli George to head this critical anti moni laundering agency. If you recall, Roli is the wife of Bode George, a man who was once found guilty of corruption and money laundering!

It was clear that under Jonathan corruption was not only tolerated but actively encouraged! Trillions were stolen through the oil subsidy scam. This scam was supretended and supervised by Mrs Allison Diezieani, the closest minister to Mr President. She indeed was more of an empress than a mere minister! She was haughty, she was imperial and she brooked no questions during here messy reign and offered no explanations. She pocketed the oil sector which was incidentally the bloodline of the mono product economy called Nigeria. Oil business in Nigeria has always been murky but under her, it became opaque and dark and hidden.

She spent the nation’s income however she deemed fit and pocketed what she liked. Her profligacy were legendary. She chattered jets on which she spent billions, her own children travelled around the world in chattered jets too and Mr President found nothing wrong with all this. Instead, he ensured that Nigeria obtained OPEC Presidency for her as her reward!

If anybody needs evidence of Jonathans corruption, Allison was it. And then there was the CAN man, a man of clearly dubious antecedents! He it was who had publicly stated that he was once an armed robber. This is the man that Jonathan chose as his spiritual adviser. His jet was caught in Southern Africa with the whopping sum of $15m on board. With that single incident, it became very clear that what we had as a Presidency was a criminal enterprise. An enterprise that was so corrupt, that nothing was beneath it!

So, when Nigerians voted Buhari President, some voted him for regional or ethnic reasons, some for religious reasons, some for reasons of pure politics and some others chose him because they knew he would provide the conditions ideal for the death of corruption!

And in just a few weeks of President Buhari, corruption is already beating a retreat. Even though people are yet to be jailed, the atmosphere is already different. The corrupt are no longer marching on the high streets, they are already watching their backs because they know that their era is over!

And we the incorrigible, the uncorrupted, can heave a sigh of relief and hope that Buhari will live up to the billing of stamping out such rampant mind numbing economy wrecking corruption which Jonathan clearly coddled and encouraged.

ON SARAKI !!!

SARAKI: Has The End Come For A Corrupt Dynasty?.

Politics in Kwara State has been under the control of Saraki family for years. It is normal for a politician's son, wife, brother or other kinsman to run for the same or other government office. This is known as political dynasty. In political science, the equivalent is oligarchy.

In 1979, Dr. Olusola Saraki, father of Senator Bukola Saraki, was elected Senator in the Second Republic and became Senate leader. In 1983, he was re-elected into the Senate on National Party of Nigeria (NPN) platform. In the 1980s, Olusola Saraki founded Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria (SGBN) an offshoot of the Societe Generale Bank of France. Based on 2013 data, SGB is France's third largest bank by total assets and the sixth largest in Europe. Founded in 1864, SGB France is one of the oldest banks in France.

Once his political tentacles were firmly entrenched in Kwara and in the Senate, Olusola Saraki wasted no time to launch the Saraki family corruption dynasty.

As the powerful and influential national vice-chairman and Kwara State chairman of NPN, he became the kingmaker in Kwara politics and decide who gets what.

With his political connections and the SGBN in his kit, the elder Saraki got better in the corruption business. The entire Saraki family was baptized with catechism of corruption, anointed with extreme shamelessness and greed. The family became polluted and degenerated. Corruption was the glue that kept the Saraki dynasty together. The family became a center of licentiousness and depravity of corruption and influence peddling.

The SGBN became the nominally powerful institution that fostered official and family corruption. Members of the family clan – Bukola Saraki, Gbemisola Saraki, and Toyin Saraki – were instrumental in the demise of the SGBN. They are well known for their legendary reputation for financial as well as political corruption.

To the Sarakis, honesty in business doesn't matter. Efficiency doesn't matter. Progressive vision doesn't matter. Corruption, greed, and power matter. Olusola Saraki and other directors of SGBN crippled SGBN. Nuhu Ribadu, former EFCC chairman and his team were to launch an investigation and arraign Saraki and nine others – Robert Mbonu, Hafiz Bakare, Toyin Idowu, G.A. Oyenola, Yinka Fagbemi, Kennedy Izuagbe, Dele Iluyomade, Noah Olopoenia, and Lana Haastrup as accused persons.

Ribadu intended to prosecute Bukola Saraki but could not because he enjoys the immunity clause bestowed on serving governors by the Nigerian Constitution. The trial of Olusola Saraki and other accomplices would have commenced pending the expiration of his son's term as governor, but because Bukola Saraki was a member of President Umaru Yar'Adua's kitchen cabinet, the suit got buried and Ribadu was disgraced and forced out of EFCC.

Bukola Saraki was elected Kwara Governor in 2003. He replaced his father's former political godson, Mohammed Lawal. It was under his watch as the vice-chairman of SGBN when the bank collapsed. Ten months into his tenure as governor, the House of Reps summoned the then Central Bank Governor Joseph Sanusi to explain how SGBN overdrew its capital base by N1 billion.

While SGBN was in financial distress, on November 29, 2001, Bukola Saraki bought a mansion in London for four million, two hundred and fifty thousand pounds. The house with title number NGL 805616, located on 70 Bourne Street, London SW1W8JW, is not far from Buckingham Palace road. The three-story edifice has been described as “a house worthy of a king.”

On March 20, 2003 NDLEA and EFCC were drafted to investigate some allegations of fraud at SGBN perpetrated by Saraki family. Olusola Saraki, his wife Florence, son Bukola and daughter Gbemisola and other shareholders were accused of money laundering. They were accused of using depositors funds to buy shares in the ailing SGBN contrary to the Banking and other Financial Institutions Acts (BOFIA). The presidency intervened and the case never saw the light of day. By early 2004, the bank and its top management were accused of defrauding the bank of N37 billion .

Barely two months after Bukola Saraki and his criminal gang in the Senate forged Senate Standing Order that got him elected as the Senate President, his wife, Toyin was invited by EFCC. Toyin Saraki scheduled to appear at the commission's headquarters in Abuja July 28, is wanted in relation to “questionable inflow of funds into companies where she has interest.”

The question on every lip of right thinking Nigerians should be: “How could Bukola Saraki from the well known corruption dynasty got away with many murders so many times without being caught, prosecuted, and punished? How could he have spearheaded the forgery of the Senate Standing Order and installed himself Senate President? Is the Senate the den of robbers, Zombies and Bozos?

With Buhari in Aso Rock, the chickens are coming home to roost. Until now, the Sarakis – a byword for corruption – seemed unassailable despite their conspicuous greed and soaring ill gotten wealth. There is no question that the Sarakis are outright thieves and that the dynasty has a series of reoccurring scandals. After flourishing for decades, with the possibility of Toyin Saraki being convicted for money laundering and Bukola Saraki going to jail for forgery of the Senate Standing Order, certainly, this is the beginning of the end of the Saraki corruption dynasty.

Billions of Naira were swindled by the Sarakis from Nigerian depositors and from the general public. Like many complicated systems, the Saraki corruption dynasty grew brittle and inflexible. It could not adjust to new realities. Addicted greed, out sized fraud, outlandish personality, pride, unrestrained appetite for graft and corruption and power will ultimately eclipse the dynasty sooner than expected.

Corruption patterns in Nigeria have become more complex, sophisticated, and deep-rooted. One case leads to another. But it might also reflect the resistance from those who have benefited from the existing system and face losing everything.

The anxiously awaited police report on the forgery of the Senate Standing Order has been submitted to President Buhari. The police report confirmed that Standing Rules used to elect Saraki and his deputy Ike Ekweremadu on June 9, 2015 were forged. The culprits in the Senategate scandal – David Mark, Saraki, Ekweremadu, Victor Ndoma-Egba, Ita Enang and the National Assembly clerk Salisu Maikasuwa – must be prosecuted without delay. They should receive the maximum jail sentence for the crime to serve as deterrence to other lawbreakers operating as lawmakers in the National Assembly.

We have no doubt that the Buhari administration is genuinely concerned about the challenge that corruption poses to its credibility and the country's ability to function. Corruption entrenches and widens economic inequality. It disproportionately affects the poor. Watching a parade of officials like Dasuki, Saraki, Yar'Adua, etc., being shamed offers at the least a sense of vengeance, at best a hope of future justice.

We love to see corrupt officials being brought down. But the system that makes corruption possible remains unaffected by the crackdown. We need powerful investigators something that would be anathema to Nigerians. We need a strong court system with judges that money cannot buy. We need to prune and purge corrupt judges who are allies of the criminals. We need efficient and professional state and local government police charged with the 21st century community policing in terms of crime prevention, detection, and prosecution.

Let's have the first casualties of war on corruption!

OBJ VERSUS WOLE SOYINKA !!!

I Maintain Soyinka Is More Of A Hunter Than A Political Critic- Obasanjo.

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has repeated once again that Professor Wole Soyinka is more of a successful aparo (guinea fowl) hunter than a political critic. He repeated it on a programme tagged ‘Book Club’ on Channels. It will be recalled that in his book, My Watch, the former president had said;
“For Wole, no one can be good, nor can anything be spot-on politically except that which emanates from him or is ordained by him. His friends and loved ones will always be right and correct no matter what they do or fail to do. He is surely a better wine connoisseur and a more successful aparo (guinea fowl) hunter than a political critic.”

The professor however replied him last year December, shortly after the book went public, in a piece titled ‘Watch And Pray, Watch And Prey’, where he vehemently protested the description of him, calling Obasanjo an expert liar, who lies to boost his ego.
But repeating what he had earlier said, Obasanjo in the interview said;
“Wole Soyinka is a gifted man. I have always acknowledged that but he is a bad politician and I have also always said that; and that is my own point of view. He may agree with it, he may not agree with it.
“But having said that, I also, in my book, bring out Wole Soyinka as I see him and that’s my own judgment; that’s my own perspective of him. He may agree, he may not agree but anybody can bring out his own perspective of me.

“For instance, I know that if I want somebody to give me the best wine, one of the people I will go to is Wole Soyinka and I know he has a taste for good wine and I said that in the book.”

PDP THIEVES !!!

A minister in GEJ's govt stole $6billion - Gov. Oshiomole alleges.

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole has alleged that a minister that served in former president Jonathan's administration stole a whooping $6billion. Governor Oshiomole made the allegation while speaking to state house correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari today.

He said American officials made the alleged fraud known to the Buhari led delegation during the state visit to the US last week.

"PDP destroyed the country. I mean from the lips of American officials; senior officials of the state department. They said one minister under PDP cornered as much as $6billion, and the man said even by Washington standard that is earth-quaking,” he said.
Governor Oshiomole said if not that Nigerians are patient people, anybody who carried the PDP badge would have been stoned. He said PDP members ought to feel very unsafe ...
"We are a very patient people. If we were not a patient people, anybody wearing the tag of PDP ought to feel very unsafe because you are all victims- all of us here,” he said.

GOVERNOR: 'BUSH-MAN' !!

Okorocha denies putting up Obama handshake billboard in Owerri.

Imo State governor Rochas Okorocha says he wasn't the one who put up the photo of him shaking hands with US president Barack Obama as a billboard in Owerri. Some of his politicians friends did it to impress him...lol. His statement below...

The attention of the Imo State Government has been drawn to His Excellency, Governor Rochas Okorocha's photographs with president Barak Obama been shown on the digital billboard screen and flex billboard banner.
To say the least, the Imo Governor or the state government he superintends did not place the photographs on the referenced screen or billboards, and was not aware or informed of such development, and could not have authorized anybody or any group to do that since it was totally unnecessary.
At the level God had placed the Imo Governor even before his becoming governor in 2011, he would not have authorized anybody to begin to advertise or display his photographs with the American President.

We had done our investigations and had discovered that some politicians in the state did that and they had done it with good intentions without their knowing the implications since they are not experts in public relations. They had thought that by doing the adverts they were going to impress the governor. And we can understand that. The government has however told them to put a stop to that.

The government also wants to use the opportunity offered by this development to demand that any body who wants to do any advert for the governor in any media or publicity outfit should get clearance from designated officials of the government. We appreciate the love of those behind the adverts in question for the governor, but next time, when they intend to do that they should get clearance before going public.

We are aware of the fact that Imo people love their governor and do certain things to appreciate him, but they should please be thorough enough, by informing the government to avoid playing into the hands of habitual opponents.

It was a good thing that His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari in his magnanimity included the Imo governor in his team for the visit to President Obama, but the governor had got to a level that he could not have allowed the adverts in question if informed.

So, we take the liberty to call on the general public who had seen or who will see the photographs on the networks in question to discard them. They are not from the Imo State Government.

Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

MORE DASUKI KATAKATA !!!

More Trouble For Dasuki Over Secret Military Funds.

Former national security adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki might be in soup for allegedly hijacking the budget implementation of the military and paramilitary agencies under the watch of Goodluck Jonathan.

Sources say Dasuki may be arraigned this week on various grave allegations bordering on alleged intent to commit treasonable felony, arms running and money laundering, among others.

“It is true Dasuki may be arranged this week but I reliably gathered that he is also making a fast move to pre-empt that plan by challenging the invasion of his residence by the DSS operatives at the weekend.
“But barring all unforeseen circumstances, Dasuki would be arraigned on allegations bordering on intent to commit treasonable felony, money laundering running to several billions of Naira, gun running and other sundry issues,” said a security source.

A top civil servant in the Defence Ministry, who does not want his name in print, to Leadership how Dasuki hijacked the budget implementation of the three forces that make up the military, along with those of the para-military agencies and all the security agencies in the country.

According to him, it was not only the civil servants in the ministry that were not happy with him; even the top echelons of the military and the agencies who used to buy their arms and ammunition through the Defence Ministry but he came and stopped the practice.

“Dasuki was and remains the most powerful and influential NSA since that office was created. There is no way Dasuki would not be found alone in the purchase of arms for the military, including the controversial purchase of arms in the black market in faraway South Africa under Jonathan,” a security officer disclosed.

“Let me tell you, Dasuki was responsible for the purchase of every arms bought for the military in the ongoing war against terrorism. And not only that; he had what he called ‘soft approach’ where he was recruiting some Islamic clerics to reverse the indoctrination of terrorists arrested – all were under his command and even that ran into several billion of Naira.”

According to him, the leadership of the paramilitary agencies like Customs and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and those of the service chiefs, would be willing to disclose how their funds passed through Dasuki’s desk.

“I remember the Cold War between him and the then Defence Minister, General Aliyu Gusau, over the matter. If he had known, Dasuki should have let go of the purchase of arms,” the source said.
It would be recalled that operatives of the DSS invaded the personal residence of Dasuki at the weekend and impounded all the cars they met in his premises, and went away with what were described as “sensitive and incriminating materials including some arms and ammunition.”

APPOINTMENT OF MINISTERS STALLED !!!

I Will Appoint Ministers In September – President Buhari.

President Muhammadu Buhari has explained his resolve to appoint his ministers and other cabinet members in the month of September.

According to him, it would be careless and irresponsible of him if, as a leader, he hurriedly appoints members of his cabinet without putting new rules of governance in place.

“When cabinet ministers are appointed in September, it will be some months after I took the oath of office. It is worth noting that Obama himself did not have his full cabinet in place for several months after first taking office; the United States did not cease to function in the interim.
“In Nigeria’s case, it would neither be prudent nor serve the interests of sound government to have made these appointments immediately on my elevation to the presidency; instead, Nigeria must first put new rules of conduct and good governance in place.
“So the path we must take is simple, even if it is not easy: First, instill rules and good governance; second, install officials who are experienced and capable of managing state agencies and ministries; and third, seek to recover funds stolen under previous regimes so that this money can be invested in Nigeria for the benefit of all of our citizens”, he noted.
He also indicated that his newly appointed service chiefs will relocate from Abuja to Borno State until the war against Boko Haram is won.

Buhari asserted that his determination to introduce a new culture of leadership should not be underestimated, including instilling good governance and tackling the scourge of corruption that has held Nigeria back for too long.

“I cannot stress how important it is to ensure that this process is carried out correctly, just as it has been crucial to first install the correct leadership of the military and security services before we fully take the fight to Boko Haram.”

BUHARI IN AMERICA !!!

OSHIOMHOLE LOOKS SCARRRRYYYYY!!! helppppppppp.

FAYOSE VERSUS OBASANJO !!!

Let Jonathan Live His Life, You Are Not The Only One That Loves Nigeria, Fayose Tells Obasanjo.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to stop attacking the immediate past President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, saying; “Dr Goodluck Jonathan is no longer the president of Nigeria, he should be allowed to live a private life devoid of mudslinging from elder statesmen like Chief Obasanjo.”
Governor Fayose said he was miffed that former President Obasanjo could choose the 11th Convocation Lecture of Benson Idahosa University (BIU) Benin, Edo State to say that “performance of Jonathan while in office will hunt the people of the South-South region for a long time to come.”
In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Monday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said the people of the South South had already demonstrated their approval of Jonathan’s performance while in office by voting overwhelmingly for him on March 28 despite the gang-up orchestrated by Chief Obasanjo and his allies.

“Most importantly, Jonathan’s performance as a democrat has been widely acknowledged locally and internationally, particularly by President Mohammadu Buhari, who on many occasions acknowledged the role he (Jonathan) played in midwifing a peaceful and successful transition programme, thereby averting the feared crisis in the country.
“This is in contrast to Baba Obasanjo, who tried third term when he was about concluding his constitutional two terms. And who knows whether he would have tried fourth term if he had succeeded with his third term agenda?
“The reality is, assuming but not conceding that Jonathan performed below expectation, democratic governance that he established in Nigeria is more important than any other performance that Obasanjo alluded to,” the governor said.
Speaking further, Governor Fayose urged Obasanjo to stop running other Nigerians down, saying; “We are all stakeholders in the country Nigeria. It is wrong for any Nigerian no matter how highly placed to go about carrying himself around as the only honest and lover of the country.”
The governor said; “since Baba Obasanjo has openly destroyed his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership card, he is free to go about seeking relevance in the All Progressives Congress (APC) without running anyone down.”
He said people living in glass houses should avoid throwing stones, adding that Nigerians know those involved in the Halliburton scandal and people who are yet to be cleared of their alleged complicity in a scam like Halliburton lacked moral rights to brand other people as corrupt.

BUHARI AND OBAMA !!!

Full text of what Obama and Buhari said when they met today.

Below is what President Obama said to President Buhari and his entourage...

Well, it’s a great pleasure to welcome President Buhari and his delegation here to the Oval Office for his first visit since the historic election that took place. Nigeria is obviously one of the important countries in the world and one of the most important countries in the African continent. Recently, we saw an election in which a peaceful transition to a new government took place.
And it was an affirmation of Nigeria’s commitment to democracy, a recognition that although Nigeria is a big country and a diverse country with many different parts, nevertheless the people of Nigeria understand that only through a peaceful political process can change take place.
President Buhari comes into office with a reputation for integrity and a very clear agenda, and that is to make sure that he is bringing safety and security and peace to his country.
He’s very concerned about the spread of Boko Haram and the violence that’s taken place there, and the atrocities that they’ve carried out, and has a very clear agenda in defeating Boko Haram and extremists of all sorts inside of his country. And he has a very clear agenda with respect to rooting out the corruption that too often has held back the economic growth and prosperity of his country.
On both these issues, we’re looking forward to hearing more about his plans and how the United States can partner with Nigeria so that Nigeria ends up being an anchor not only of prosperity and stability in the eastern part of the continent, but can also be an outstanding role model for developing countries around the world.
And we very much look forward to talking about security issues, how we can cooperate on counterterrorism. We’re looking forward to discussing how we can be helpful in addressing some of the corruption issues that have held Nigeria back, and unleashing the incredible talent of the Nigerian people. We all recognize that some of the best businesspeople in the world are from Nigeria, and they thrive as they travel to other countries, but we want to make sure that they’re also helping folks thrive in Nigeria.
We’re also going to have an opportunity to talk about some of the other areas where Nigeria has taken leadership — in public health issues, fighting tragedies like Ebola. Nigeria has an outstanding track record working with us to eradicate polio, and that gives us a framework and a template to continue to work on public health issues throughout the western part of Africa, as well as throughout the subcontinent.
We’ll have a chance to talk about issues of climate change, electrification. As many of you know, Power Africa is one of our top priorities, making sure that we’re electrifying the continent so that it can grow faster and more people have access to the power that they need.
So we’ve got a busy agenda, but I want to emphasize how much I appreciate President Buhari’s work so far. I’m looking forward to seeing him put together his team so that we can do everything that we can to help him succeed and help the people of Nigeria succeed. Because if they’re successful and doing well, that will have a ripple effect not only in West Africa, but throughout the world.
So thank you very much.

What President Buhari said

Nigeria will remain ever grateful to President Obama and the United States for making Nigeria to consolidate its gains on a democratic system. The visit of the Secretary of State, when he visited Nigeria to see the President and the whole government of Nigeria, see the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission for Nigeria, and saw the operation was very clear and a positive trend that saw us through for this credible election we had.
And the maintenance of pressure by the United States, mainly, and Europe, to make sure that the elections were free, fair and credible led us to where we are now. It would have been almost impossible if the United States did not maintain the pressure on the former Nigerian government, but they would not accept anything less constitutional as far as the processes of the election are concerned. We will ever remain grateful to you because there are fundamental objectives that are identify all of Nigeria’s people’s Congress — security, economy, employment especially of youth, and then fighting corruption.
We are extremely happy that the United States had made it absolutely clear before the election that they are prepared to help Nigeria in this aspect. And this is why I am here, and I am very grateful for the invitation Mr. President extended to me.
Thank you very much, Mr. President.

BUHARI GOES TO USA TODAY !!!

YAWA DON DEY GAS SMALL-SMALL !!!

Buhari Rejects Alison-Madueke's Plea to Refund Looted $250m.

Controversial former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, has offered to refund the sum of $250 million dollars to the Nigerian government in return for immunity from investigation and possible prosecution, Sahara Reporters has learned.

But her overtures has reportedly been rejected by the no-nonsense President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari was unimpressed by Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s offer. “Mr. President considers the $250 million as ridiculous considering the amount of money Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke is suspected to have diverted into her pocket and those of others.”

A source in Aso Rock and a ranking member of the APC revealed that the former minister has been reaching out to influential government and ruling party officials, in and outside Abuja, to prevail on President Buhari to accept her offer and let bygones be bygone. According to our sources, Mrs. Alison-Madueke had enlisted the support of several figures close to Mr. Buhari, including Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, to intercede with the incumbent president.

Mrs. Alison-Madueke was one of the closest ministers to former President Goodluck Jonathan, and is reputed to have anchored and facilitated numerous money-laundering scandals and deals that characterized the era of the just-ended Jonathan administration. The former Petroleum Minister oversaw several oil swap deals, the disposition of oil wells handed over by Shell Petroleum to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and the direct looting of funds through the NNPC. Former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was forced out of office after he revealed that the NNPC had failed to remit more than $20 billion in oil revenues with the CBN.

The former Petroleum Minister is the latest of several officials who served under Mr. Jonathan’s government that are currently negotiating “soft landing deals” with the Buhari administration. The incumbent president, who was sworn in on May 29, 2015, has vowed to probe various questionable financial actions taken by his successor or officials of his government. Mr. Buhari is reportedly determined to recover billions of dollars in stolen funds.
One source said Mrs. Alison-Madueke’s latest offer to refund at least $250 million to the government came after she learned that President Buhari’s scheduled meeting with US Attorney General, Loretta Lynch, would include a discussion of ways that the US government could facilitate the investigation, arrest and prosecution of some officials of the Jonathan administration implicated in the theft of billions of dollars and a variety of frauds that resulted in the loss of significant sums of public funds in Nigeria.

Sahara Reporters exclusively reported earlier in the week that the former Minister of Finance and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has been cooperating with the Buhari administration’s ongoing, if quiet, probe of a series of questionable financial transactions by the Jonathan administration.

The sources revealed that Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala had given the Buhari administration documents that expose a number of shady financial deals executed by the Jonathan administration.

Buhari is intent on ordering a full audit of deals and transactions done by the former Petroleum Minister and her cohorts in the various agencies that reported to her.

In addition, the  president is reportedly focused on looking further at the extensive embezzlement of security funds by appointees of the former president. Buhari has approved an investigation of how more than $3 billion in Nigeria’s defense budget was spent. Security agents who searched the homes of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, reportedly carted away some revealing documents.

Jonathan's Acts will Continue to Hunt South-South – Obasanjo.

According to Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, for a long time to come, the people of South-South zone of Nigeria would bear the results whether positive or negative, of the years President Goodluck Jonathan was president of Nigeria.

Obasanjo said, “I have also said that you can help anybody to get a job but you cannot help him to do it. Let us get it clear, there is nobody who has got into any position who has not been helped by one person or more than one person.
"To become Nigeria’s head of state, it was first of all my performance in the war front. Now if General Gowon had not sent me to the war front, you won’t know whether I can perform or cannot perform. Now, he sent me to the war front, I thank him for it and because I performed we shared the credit. If I had failed, Gowon would not have shared the credit, he would not have shared the condemnation with me, I would have been alone.

“Yes as I have said, I believe that opportunity afforded itself in 2010 for somebody from the minority to on his own steam, become the president of Nigeria. He should never have lost the opportunity but what he did with it was entirely up to him and don’t forget, what he did or did not do with it, will reflect for a long time on that part of the country and don’t take that lightly.
"...but nobody will be there who will not be helped but we voted for him, I was only one of the 18 million voters who voted for him.”

He spoke in Benin on the backdrop of criticism that he worked assiduously in making Jonathan President and therefore should share in the perceived failure of the administration.

JONATHAN ON THIN ICE !!!

President Buhari Wants to Imprison Goodluck Jonathan.

A civil rights organisation, Vanguards of Nigeria’s Democracy, has raised the alarm over clandestine moves they claimed President Muhammadu Buhari is making to “investigate, malign and imprison” former President Goodluck Jonathan on alleged trumped-up charges.

The VND accused the President and the APC-led administration of “unsavoury and patently repugnant action,” which it said, were anti-Niger Delta and against the Ijaw ethnic nationality.

The group believed Jonathan was the target of the controversy surrounding some alleged missing funds from the nation’s treasury during the tenure of the immediate past administration.

But the special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, wondered why people would dwell on speculations when nothing concrete had been established against Jonathan.

He said, “All these are speculations and I cannot react to speculations because there is nothing concrete yet against the former President.”

The spokesperson of VND, Osaghae Ogiemudia, in a statement in Abuja on Saturday, claimed that anti-Niger Delta and anti-Ijaw posturing of the Buhari government had been demonstrated in several ways.

According to him, all Niger-Deltans, especially those from the Ijaw ethnic nationality, should support and rally round Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, “the only Ijaw governor.”

POLITICAL APPOINTMENTS !!!

Buhari Will Make 6000 Appointments- Garba Shehu

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu in an interview on Saturday with Sahara TV said Nigerians need to be more patient with the President because he will be making more than 6000 appointments which cannot be made in a hurry. He also said his slow and steady approach to Government will pay off for Nigerians having in mind that he is an experienced leader.
“I think President Muhammadu Buhari is sensitive to the diversity of this country. He has more than 6,000 appointments to make. Therefore, why would anybody use less than 10 appointments to judge the President on this matter? Again, it boils down to the lack of patience. This man is an experienced leader. Nigeria stands to gain from the accumulation of wisdom that he has garnered over his long life on earth. He has sworn to an oath that he’s a President of all.
“This government will make as many as 6,000 appointments. And he is bound, even if he doesn’t wish it, by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to reflect federal character,” Garba Shehu said.

DSS detains former president Jonathan's Chief Security Officer.

There are reports that the DSS has detained the Chief Security Officer to former President Jonathan, Gordon Obua. According to a report by Punch, Obua was arrested and detained on Thursday July 16 as part of measures by the new administration to probe officials who worked under GEJ’s. The order for his arrest was given by President Buhari.

The reason for the detention of the former CSO is not immediately known but a source told Punch that investigators maybe trying to gather info on key officials in Jonathan’s government from Obua

“The arrest and detention of the former CSO is an indication that every former minister or senior official under Jonathan’s government are not exempted from probe except those that have no criminal suspicion or record of wrong doing in office,” a source explained.
More officials who served under GEJ are expected to be arrested and detained in the coming weeks as president Buhari has reported mandated DSS to recover  all looted funds by previous government.

WHY DASUKI WAS RAIDED !!!

The Department of State Security Service, has explained why it raided the home of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and why he was also detained. Below is a statement they released, signed by Tony Opuiyo, explaining their side of things. “On 16th July, 2015, about 1650 hours, based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo Dasuki (Col Rtd) with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search on the properties belonging to the former NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd). The properties are on Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State. “The search operations was planned to be simultaneously conducted, but DASUKI, refused the operatives entry into his main residence located at No. 13 John Khadya Street, Asokoro, despite being presented with a genuine and duly signed search warrant. Consequently, what was to last not more than two (2) hours, lasted more than ten (10) hours, up till the early hours of 17th July, 2015. Indeed if not for the sense of maturity and professionalism of the officers and men assigned this task and the very good understanding and timely intervention of the new Chief of Army Staff, Tsukur Y. BURATAI (Maj Gen), there would have been a clash between the Army operatives guarding the house and Service operatives, as SAMBO directed the soldiers on duty not to allow any movement into his house, despite the subsisting court order. SAMBO thereafter raised a false alarm to the military authorities to come to his aid as he failed to correctly tell the military that his property was about to be legitimately searched. “Gentlemen, please recall that SAMBO retired from the Army as a Colonel, and therefore not entitled to have military guards, if not for the fact he was NSA. Even as NSA, such guards should have been withdrawn after his removal as NSA since he would not have been entitled. “The search was thoroughly conducted, and several items recovered, among which were some incriminating items. These include seven (7) high caliber rifles, (high assault weapons), several magazines and military related gears. “The team also recovered twelve (12) new vehicles, out of which five (5) were bullet proofs. These vehicles which are all exotic vehicles were retrieved from SAMBO’s residence having failed to produce evidence of ownership. For instance, what could he be doing with five (5) bullet proof cars as a retired NSA?. These cars which from all available evidence were purchased with tax payers money, were being kept for possible sinister enterprise. “The Service would want to state categorically that this search operation is not a witch hunt. The Service decided to move at this time in line with current management resolve to be proactive and pre-empt individuals with penchant for impunity and lawlessness from putting back the nation to the dark days. The Service is also aware that the lethal arms and the vehicles recovered were not reflected in SAMBO’s handover notes or what could a former NSA be doing with destructive weapons and bullet proof cars which put together could disrupt the peace of any city in Nigeria for a while. “On the search of his three (3) properties, including the Sokoto residence, the Service is aware that in his capacity and given his antecedents, he might decide to use any of his residences for such diabolical plans, rather than his main residence. “Gentlemen of the press, the Service Management would want to assure members of the public that it would not trample on the freedom of individuals or groups as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and emphasized by the current administration’s position on transparency, and probity underlined by justice and equity for all Nigerians. This is the driving force for all DSS operations.

Gentlemen of the Press, good evening.
2. On 16th July, 2015, about 1650 hours, based on credible intelligence linking the immediate past NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd) with alleged plans to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) conducted a search on the properties belonging to the former NSA, Mohammed Sambo DASUKI (Col Rtd). The properties are on Nos. 13, John Khadya Street, Nos. 46, Nelson Mandela Street, both at Asokoro, Abuja, and Nos. 3 Sabon Birni Road, Gwiwa Area, Sokoto, Sokoto State.

3. The search operations was planned to be simultaneously conducted, but DASUKI, refused the operatives entry into his main residence located at No.

4. Gentlemen, please recall that SAMBO retired from the Army as a Colonel, and therefore not entitled to have military guards, if not for the fact he was NSA. Even as NSA, such guards should have been withdrawn after his removal as NSA since he would not have been entitled.

5. The search was thoroughly conducted, and several items recovered, among which were some incriminating items. These include seven (7) high caliber rifles, (high assault weapons), several magazines and military related gears.

6. The team also recovered twelve (12) new vehicles, out of which five (5) were bullet proofs.

7. The Service would want to state categorically that this search operation is not a witch hunt.

8. On the search of his three (3) properties, including the Sokoto residence, the Service is aware that in his capacity and given his antecedents, he might decide to use any of his residences for such diabolical plans, rather than his main residence.

9. Gentlemen of the press, the Service Management would want to assure members of the public that it would not trample on the freedom of individuals or groups as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution and emphasized by the current administration’s position on transparency, and probity underlined by justice and equity for all Nigerians. This is the driving force for all DSS operations.
However, the Service would not hesitate to go after any person or group of persons, no matter how highly placed once such individual (s) breach or attempt to breach the laws of the Federation. The days for impunity and indecisiveness in the face of unpatriotic acts by individuals operating against the State are over.
The Service hereby appeal to all Nigerians to be law abiding and partner with it in ensuring a peaceful and secured nation. In the same vein, those that are bent on breaking the rules governing our peaceful co-existence due to either the huge ill gotten wealth they have acquired or imaginary hold they think they have on our nation’s survival, are being warned to rethink. The DSS will use all constitutional means as defined by its mandate to deal decisively with such unpatriotic individuals.

10. The Management want to seize this opportunity to appreciate Nigerians for the tremendous acts of goodwill that is being extended to the new dispensation. The Management also wish to assure Nigerians that the gesture and confidence being expressed will be reciprocated with more dedication and service to our dear country Nigeria.

Thank you.

POWER IS PERISHABLE IN NIGERIA !!!

My 24-hour SSS ordeal was a witch hunt- Sambo Dasuki.

The former National Security Adviser, Mr. Sambo Dasuki, yesterday raised an alarm over what he saw as a plot by the State Security Service (SSS) to implicate him in alleged security breaches.
He said Nigerians should know that the invasion of his house by the SSS was a sheer witch-hunt. He said it was sad that the operatives of the security agency broke into his ailing father’s house in Sokoto and broke his safe.

Dasuki, who spoke exclusively with the Nation correspondent on the phone yesterday, said he did not deserve such treatment because as the National Security Adviser he did not maltreat any Nigerian.
He said he was subjected to a 12-hour ordeal from 6pm on Thursday till 6am on Friday.
He said:

“The SSS operatives came in two trucks with a search warrant from a Magistrate Court. The warrant gave them the power to search for ‘illegal weapons and any incriminating item.’ You can imagine what that is supposed to mean.
“I left office on Tuesday and they got the warrant on Wednesday and executed it by 6pm on Thursday.
“From 6pm on Thursday, throughout the night till about 6am this morning (Friday), they were searching my house looking for incriminating items.
“They restricted my movement. I cannot go out and no one can visit me. All those who attempted to see me were stopped from doing so.
“In fact, my son was blocked from entering my residence. My two cooks, who used to come from their homes to prepare my meals, were also disallowed from leaving my house.
“The only person allowed was the man who feeds my dogs. And he only related with the dogs.
“By Friday morning, they packed away all the nine cars in my residence. I could not go out to perform the Eid-el-Fitr prayer because of the restriction.
Even when I sought permission to go to Eid Praying Ground, they promised to provide a vehicle but they never did.”
He added:
“This is just a witch-hunt; they are desperately looking for something to implicate me.
“They went to my father’s house including breaking into the ceiling to look for incriminating documents. They broke a safe in my father’s house.
“Also, my sister kept a 20-year old box in my father’s house, they also forced it open. What has my father got to do with this?
“And the old man is in hospital in London. He was shocked to hear that they broke into his house. The good thing is that they did not find anything.
“They brought the photocopy of a 2007 draft by my brother, Ahmed, and asked me to comment on it. Was I in office in 2007 as NSA? You can see the extent to which they are ready to go to implicate me,” he said.
The State Security operatives yesterday also confiscated his international passport and $40,000 cash found in his house.
They retrieved 3 rifles which were being used by members of the protective team while in office.
The disengagement of the Protective team was yet to be completed yesterday but the SSS asked him to explain how he came about the rifles.
However, at about 6 pm yesterday, SSS operatives were withdrawn from his residence.

Dasuki’s movement remains however restricted to within the country as his traveling documents are now with the SSS.
According to findings, the SSS team obtained statement from him from about 1 hour.

A source said:
“They seized the ex-NSA passport and raised issues on how he came about the $40,000 in his house. They went to the extent of asking him to give the details of how he came about the cash.
“On the rifles, they repeatedly questioned him on what he was doing with them. He took time to explain that they belong to members of the Protective Team guarding him. They became excited as if they had found an evidence against him.
“I think by the time the case gets to a court, Nigerians will know the truth or otherwise of their findings.
In regards to the allegations against him, about the purchase of arms, funds for counter-insurgency and the seized $15million in South Africa , Dasuki said:
“I read some of these allegations in The Nation but nobody has asked me some of these things they are saying. I was not even in charge of some of these things. How do I account for all?
“And if you want me to respond to these issues, you have to give me access to relevant documents. You do not need to restrict my movement. You can see that they are just out to set me up. Even if they find a knife in my house, they will say it is incriminating.”
“There are some who should account 10 times for some of these allegations they are raising but they are walking about freely, ” he added.
Dasuki, who sounded confident on the phone, said as a retired senior military officer and ex-NSA, he ought to be better treated.
“Everybody should know what is happening. They sent some low-level officers, looking for something to implicate me.
“It is just a witch-hunt. If you want me to make clarifications on any issue, in the spirit of democracy and the rule of Law, have the courtesy to invite me and as a gentleman, I will honour the invitation. Sending two trucks to lay siege on my house and restrict my movement is just abysmal.
“For a man who left office on Tuesday, where will I run to? I have nothing to fear.”
The former NSA said he was unfairly treated by the SSS because when he was in charge of the nation’s security, he was “cautious, careful and fair" in his approach.
He added:
“I was fair to all as NSA. Even when I had security cause to act on some issues, inflammatory comments and actions against the government of the day by those in the opposition, I exercised restraint. I did not restrict anyone’s movement, I never asked security agents to occupy anybody’s house.
“But that is the new change we have, this is our own definition of democracy. All I know is that everything has a beginning and an end in a democracy. I gave my best for this transition, which led to the victory of the opposition over the ruling party.
