CHARLY BOY AT FATHER'S FUNERAL!!!

DIS OLD DUDE NA D REAL 'OMO-IJEKA'!!!

'UNTOUCHABLE' MALLAM GIADE OF THE NDLEA!!!

Culled from SR.
By Debo Adeniran
Gentlemen of the Press.
Once again, the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) is compelled to address you on the pertinent issue of endemic corruption which remains a major clog in the quest to evolve genuine democratic Nigeria. It is no longer news that the scourge of corruption is daily developing unusual resistance against our fight in Nigeria; no thanks to its endemic and multi-faceted nature and the peculiar nature of our socio-cultural environment.
This Press Conference is called during this year’s Anti-Drug Day celebration to put in proper perspective and direct global attention to the monumental covers-up at the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) masterminded by the Chairman/Chief Executive of the Agency, Alhaji Ahmadu Giade, who has continued to orchestrate the false impression that Nigeria is on course with its war against drug. It is an opportunity being utilised to add our voice to the teeming voices of well-meaning Nigerians calling for the probe and prompt prosecution and, if found culpable, mete out adequate punishment of the supposed foremost anti-drug czar for aiding and abetting corruption in the agency.
At the moment, not less than 12 petitions have been forwarded to the presidency, National Security Adviser, NSA, Secretary to the Federal Government of the Federation, Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Stakeholders and to the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, against the ineptitude and unbridled corruption by the NDLEA boss.
It is on record that within only one year, between 2005 and 2006, when Alhaji Giade assumed the rein of power at the Agency, a whooping 197 drug convicts are known to have been helped to evade the four walls of the prison, even after jail sentences were duly passed on them by various courts of competent jurisdiction. According to a report by TELL magazine of April 22, 2013, 101 convicts in 2005 and 96 in 2006, were illegally freed by a criminal syndicate of NDLEA prosecutors, defence counsels, and prison officials, thus making a complete mockery of our country’s justice system.
According to the report of Justice Gilbert Obayan National Committee for the reform of NDLEA, submitted in February 2007, jail racketeering is a vice that is pervasive in the anti-drug agency. Jail-evasion is actualized by the prosecution hands in the Agency and prison officials who strike the bargain, which is said to be usually initiated by the defence team. All the super rich drug barons have to do, is to part with some millions of naira, which gives them no hassle to part with, going by humongous gains they make from the illicit trade in the long run.
More so, apart from some unscrupulous elements of the agency helping drug convicts to evade serving their jail terms, they also ensure that the suspects, while on trial get light punishments. It is heart-rending and ridiculous to note that many of the convictions secured by the Agency only show sentences ranging from mere three (3) months to three (3) years.
This negates Sections 11, 14, 19, 20 and 21 of the NDLEA Act which explicitly specify penalties for all drug-related offences, ranging from minimum of 15 to 25 years imprisonment for anyone found guilty of unlawful possession of, or trafficking in illicit drugs, without any provision for plea-bargaining or fine. However, investigation reveals that drug convicts are still allowed plea-bargaining and drug peddlers who are ready to pay the price, get lighter sentence with options of fine.
A very good example is that of a renowned actress, Akinwande Taiwo popularly called Yetunde Wunmi, who was arrested with 1.2kg of cocaine at Murtala Muhammed International Airport sometimes in 2006. Due to NDLEA’s shoddy prosecution, the woman was sentenced to just three (3) years behind the bar; curiously, with an option of N1 million fine, which she gladly paid and walked out of the courtroom a free citizen. This indicates that punishments meted out to drug convicts do not commensurate with offences committed, which in turn have not deterred others from going into the trade going by the rise in drug-related cases in our airports and seaports and, of course, victims of drug abuses that are increasing in geometrical progression, which could have in turn occasioned the increase in violent crimes in, otherwise, peace-loving Nigeria. No thanks to the Giade-led NDLEA!
Likewise, the Obayan report identified a connection between all the corrupt activities in the agency and some top players in the agency. To this end, it recommended the purging of the agency of some polluted hands especially those of the Directorate of Prosecutions who connived with convicts to evade appropriate punishments.
Top on the list of the officials fingered and recommended for compulsory disengagement was the Director of Prosecution and Legal Services, Mr. Femi Oloruntoba for heading a Directorate that connived with defence counsels to soften the ground for drug convicts to walk away with lighter sentences; and the former Head of Operations and General Investigations, Mallam Bashir Gadzama, for his roles in prison evasion scams.
Contrary to expectation, Giade leadership saw nothing wrong in retaining most of the indicted NDLEA officials as it has been revealed that many of them are still holding vital positions in the agency. The Chairman, even in an interview with TELL sometimes last year, declared that the issues raised in the Obayan report “have been overtaken by events” and passed the buck of jail evasion crimes on prison officials, claiming it was them that illegally freed the convicts after signing the necessary papers.
However, the crux of the matter is the latest petition, written by the Chief Superintendent of Narcotics of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Taraba/Adamawa State Commands, Mr. Paul Audu, to President Goodluck Jonathan.
Audu, in the petition, a copy of which was made available to our Coalition, revealed weighty allegations against the Mallam Giade, who the petitioner accused of running the agency like a family business. Audu revealed that Giade’s romance with drug barons started in 2005 during the arrest of one Akindele Ikumoluyi popularly known as Ile Eru 1, who has been an internationally wanted drug baron but with intelligence at the disposal of the Agency, the suspect was arrested.
Mr. Audu was instrumental to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect and even to the tracking down of Ikumoluyi’s assets. But it was later discovered that Giade wasn’t happy about the arrest of the suspect as events thereafter began to show that Alhaji Giade did not take the arrest of Akindele kindly with Audu. And because further arrests of other drug barons may jeopardize his pecuniary interest, hence, Giade’s lack of interest and zeal in pursuing the arrest of the other barons waned despite the fact that Mr. Ikumoluyi was ready to assist the Agency with information that could lead to their arrest. It is therefore on record that Akindele whose arrest was masterminded by Officer Audu remains the only drug baron to be arrested in almost nine years of Alhaji Ahmadu Giade’s headship of the Agency as the Chairman/Chief Executive.
It has been revealed that many of the so-called arrests and prosecutions by the NDLEA are only those of the small fries (couriers) who are usually just victims of economic hardship. Information is only extracted from these drug couriers about their principals, who are the real drug barons, whom Alhaji Giade and his cronies put into use for their personal aggrandizement.
The situation has become so bad that there has been a somewhat accord between Alhaji Ahmadu Giade and his boys on the one hand and the barons who are willing to sacrifice a few of their couriers to be show-cased on the other, so that NDLEA will not come near them (the barons). The same way these barons dole out money in all currencies to mumble NDLEA’s investigative voice. This explains why NDLEA mischievously continues to celebrate the arrest of drug couriers on daily basis while they fail to answer the questions of: who funds the drug trade? What happens to the drug owners and the people receiving the drugs?
It must be emphasized that drug control paradigm globally has long shifted from quantitative to qualitative arrest. The arrest of a single notable baron is worth the arrest of two thousand couriers, but for the past eight years, Giade-led NDLEA cannot boast of the arrest and prosecution of any drug baron, apart from Akindele Ikumoluyi’s  whom Mr. Paul Audu masterminded,  at the very embryo of his (Alhaji Ahmadu Giade’s) administration”.
It is worthy to stress that the same Audu has been at the receiving end of Mallam Giade’s big stick as he was posted out of the Lagos State to Adamawa/Taraba State Commands immediately after Ikumoluyi took him (Audu) into confidence and promised to assist the Agency with some information that could lead to the arrest of other drug barons. The posting may be to prevent the dedicated officer from investigating and arresting other barons who lived in all the nooks and crannies of Lagos State.
It must also be noted that for the past seven years, Officer Audu has been stuck in Adamawa/Taraba. This runs contrary to NDLEA posting and transfer policy of moving officers, especially prosecutors around, after two to three years, for purpose of safety of life; above all, Mallam Giade has ensured the promotion of this officer is perpetually put in abeyance.
It is should also be noted that most of the landmark arrests and seizure made under this present administration so far came through “controlled delivery” which intelligence came through the Agency’s foreign collaborators, who supply it with information on drugs destined for Nigeria. It is because these collaborators are involved in the monitoring of the information and movement of the consignments that the NDLEA just had to intercept the consignments upon landing in Nigeria so as not to spark off obvious tale of compromise.
It is disheartening that Drug Barons are all over Nigeria swimming in the opulence of their illicit wealth, which is wreaking great havoc to the economy and man-power development, health and security conditions of this country as well as those of other countries with which they merchandise their goods of mass destruction - destroying human capitals that are sine-qua-non to positive national development. Nonetheless, Mallam Giade and his cronies are looking away from real drug criminals but preventing dedicated officers from performing their constitutional roles. Such ignoble act, to us at CACOL, is highly retrogressive, destructive, reprehensible and condemnable by all right-thinking Nigerians. It is unheard of that those that are paid from taxpayers’ sweat to fight the war against drugs are the very ones aiding and abetting the nefarious and destructive activities of the drug barons.
In the light of the above, CACOL is concerned that several years after the report of Justice Gilbert Obayan recommended the disengagement of some corrupt officials of the NDLEA, many of them are still in the workforce of the Agency being encouraged and protected by the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mallam Ahmadu Giade, who possibly takes returns after perpetrating their evil trades. It is also regrettable that a dedicated officer could be so callously victimized just because he was ready to perform his duties without compromising standards.
CACOL therefore urges President Goodluck Jonathan to exhume the Obayan Report and ensures the implementation of its recommendations. We also suggest that another panel be set up to look into the petition sent to His Excellency, the President, by Mr. Paul Audu, an official of the NDLEA presently being victimised by Mallam Giade and his cronies while Audu’s victimization be stopped forthwith.
We are further, by this Conference, calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in line with the powers vested in the it especially Section 7 subsection (1) a and b, to investigate the NDLEA Chairman, Mallam Giade and the Agency’s top officials whether their lifestyles and extent of the properties are justified by their sources of income.

Thank you for listening.

In a statement released moments ago, the Nigerian military said it has arrested Babuji Ya'ari, (pictured above), who is described as the key actor in the Chibok girls abduction. Babuji, according to the military, was a member of the Youth Vigilante Group popularly known as civilian JTF, which he used as a cover to spy on the activities of the Nigerian security forces, acting as a spy & gathering information for terrorist group. The military also said Ya'ari has coordinated several deadly attacks in Maiduguri since 2011. Find the press statement signed by Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, after the cut...

A terrorists’ intelligence cell headed by a businessman who participated actively in the abduction of School Girls in Chibok has been busted by troops. The man, Babuji Ya’ari who is also a member of the Youth Vigilante Group popularly known as Civilian JTF which he uses as cover while remaining an active terrorist, also spearheaded the murder of the Emir of Gwoza.  His main role in the group is to spy and gather information for the terrorists group.
Babuji has been coordinating several deadly attacks in Maiduguri since 2011, including the daring attacks on Customs and military locations as well as the planting of IEDs in several locations in the town.
The arrest of the businessman who is known to deal in tricycles has also yielded some vital information and facilitated the arrest of other members of the terrorists’ intelligence cell who are women.  One of them, Hafsat Bako had earlier escaped to Gombe State to avoid suspicion but was tracked and arrested.  Prior to her arrest, Hafsat coordinated the payment of other operatives on the payroll of the group.   In her confession, she disclosed that a minimum of N10,000 is paid to each operative depending on the enormity of his task.
Another female suspect named Haj Kaka who doubles as an armourer and a spy for the terrorists group has also been arrested.  Until their arrest, all the suspects actively operated a terrorists’ intelligence cell in collaboration with others still at large.
In another development, troops deployed in Goniri, Yobe State, over the weekend, had an encounter with terrorists, resulting in casualties on both sides after the attack was successfully repelled.

BOKO-HARAM'S RECRUITMENT DRIVE!!!

A report by the United States Institute of Peace has given reasons why the Boko Haram terrorist group has been able to recruit many Nigerian youths. The new report draws extensively from a larger study to examine youth radicalization and insurgent affiliation in Nigeria.

According to the report, unemployment, illiteracy, and weak family structures make or contribute to making young men vulnerable to radicalization while itinerant preachers capitalize on the situation by preaching an extreme version of religious teachings and conveying a narrative of the government as weak and corrupt.
The report further states that armed groups such as Boko Haram can then recruit and train these young people for activities ranging from errand running to suicide bombings...

The report also proffers solutions to the Boko Haram menace including monitoring and regulation of religious preaching, strengthening education, job training and creation programme, designing a robust programme to aid destitute children, promotion of peace education, and an invigorate anti-corruption campaign.

According to Leadership, the report notes that addressing the conditions that make it possible for insurgents to recruit men in Nigeria can significantly diminish the strength of the insurgency, if not eliminate it altogether.

Estimates of the death toll from Boko Haram attacks since 2009, the report states, ranged as high as 10,000 fatalities with the Boko Haram insurgents and other groups seemingly gaining in strength.

CHARLY BOY PLEASE GROW UP!!!

Culled from Vanguard.
Arequiem mass organised for the late Socrates of the Supreme Court, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa at his country home in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State was disrupted yesterday, when the first son of the former erudite judge, Charles Oputa, a.k.a Charley Boy prevented Governor Rochas Okorocha from paying tribute to his father.
Charly-boy-and-rochas
Eye witnesses said that the mass which was conducted by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Rt Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta, went on smoothly until Okorocha was permitted by the Bishop to pay his tribute to the fallen judge.
However, Chief Okorocha, was stopped midway into his speech, by Charley Boy who was visibly infruiated with Kukah for granting the governor the permission to speak. He walked up angrily to the altar and snatched the micro-phone from the governor, to the embarrassment of all the dignitaries present. It was a disgrace to the governor.
Among eminent Nigerians present at the church service included representative of President Goodluck Jonathan, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Governors Willie Obiano (Anambra), Theodore Orji (Abia); the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Emeka Ihedioha and former governors of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige and Mr Peter Obi respectively.
Also present, were the former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim,, Senator Uche Chukwumerije and the Minister of Labour, Chief Emeka Wogu, the state Police Commsiioner, Almajid Ali and the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, for Oguta, Ikembuchukwu Abugu.
The intervention of Bishop Kukah could not assuage Charly Boy’s anger as he insisted that no politician would take advantage of his father’s burial to score “cheap political” goals. He insisted that the Governor should not speak at the event.
However, obviously embarrassed by Charley Boy’s action, the Governor and members his entourage hurriedly left the church service mid -way, despite entreaties from the officiating Bishop Kuka for them to stay on.
It was gathered that Charly Boy’s action followed a recent statement by Government House, Owerri, to the effect that the Oputa family was given N20 million to assist it in the burial arrangements.
Sources told Saturday Vanguard, however, that “the family never received a dime from either Okorocha or the state government, not to talk of the alleged N20 million said to have been made available to them,’’ as reported by a section of the media.
Earlier in his sermon, Bishop who lauded the virtues of Justice Oputa, stressed that “to tolerate a son like Charley Boy by a man of late Justice Oputa’s reputation, is a measure of the greatness of the man.”
He called on Nigerians to stand up in defence of justice and equity, adding that late Oputa had serious liking for the concept of justice and equity during his life time.
”Oputa before he died, was worried about the quality of Nigerian lawyers and judges because he believed in the judiciary as the last hope of the nation. Today, his legacies are beyond his immediate family,” Bishop Kuka said
Meanwhile, the state government has described the incident that played out at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta, as “ugly and regrettable.”
According to a statement by the Seniour Special Assistant, SSA, Media, to Governor Okorocha, Mr Sam Onwuemodo, “It is highly regrettable that the son of the late Justice, Mr Charles Emeka Oputa, aka, Charly Boy, threw caution to the wind and turned the church service into a political theatre that saw him acting or playing out the script he drafted in Abuja with some Imo politicians, who have remained cowed by the overwhelming popularity of Governor Rochas Okorocha.”
Onwuemeodo insisted that the state government made “substantial financial input and also organized a special day of tributes for the late Justice Oputa at the expense of state government with Charly Boy also present with other members of the family.
”We condemn that ugly incident and also wish to advise politicians from the state to stop heating up the polity over power since God is the giver of power. In 2015, God will decide who will be governor of Imo State and when God decides that, there is nothing anybody can do about it.” He did not make to reference to the N20m said to have been given to the family.

NIGERIA MAY ADOPT STATE POLICING!!!

States Can Establish Police Forces, National Conference Says

Culled from SR.
The ongoing National Conference in Abuja today resolved that States can in the future establish, fund and control a Police Force of their own, as well as put into place community policing.
A statement signed by Akpandem James, the Assistant Secretary for Media and Communication, noted that when enacted into law, this resolution will put to rest the long debate and controversies in Nigeria over the establishment of state police.
The agreement was reached as the Conference considered the report of the Committee on National security.
“The state police when established by states that desired them are to compliment the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force,” the statement said.
“The areas of jurisdiction of the Federal police will cover the entire country and on clearly spelt out matters and offences while the jurisdiction of the State Police will cover the state and operate within the laws enacted by the State Assembly.”
Among others, the conference has also decided that the government should to set up a Counter Terrorism Architecture to take up such responsibilities as harmonizing national counter terrorism efforts and providing the platform for foreign assistance.
“It would equally interface between Nigeria and Africa Union (AU) countries especially contiguous states such as Niger, Chad, Cameroun and African Center for the Study and Research on Terrorism and engage the services of well-trained counter terrorism operatives to work within the established in-country infrastructure,” the statement said.

2014 NATIONAL CONFERENCE
PRESS RELEASE
JUNE 26, 2014
The National Conference sitting in Abuja on Thursday broke a generational jinx with a resolution that henceforth, any state of the federation desirous of having a State Police Force can establish, fund and control it.
This resolution, when enacted into law would put to rest the long debate and controversies over the establishment of state police. The state police when established by states that desired them are to compliment the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force.
The areas of jurisdiction of the Federal police will cover the entire country and on clearly spelt out matters and offences while the jurisdiction of the State Police will cover the state and operate within the laws enacted by the State Assembly.
The conference also resolved that in addition to establishing state police, states laws should also provide for community policing. The decisions were made while considering the report of the Committee on National security.
The Conference agreed with the report of the Committee that state governors should be involved in the running of the Federal Police in their respective states. It was also agreed that officers of the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Federal Police should be deployed to their states of origin.
It was reasoned that this will address the concern of language and culture, as this group of officers actually constitute the operational component of the force.
To make the police more people friendly, the conference called for the amendment of section 214 of the 1999 constitution so that The Nigeria Police Force will be called The Nigeria Police.
A proposal for the establishment of a National Border Patrol Force to secure and protect the nation`s border was also approved by the conference. The Border Patrol Force is to be domiciled in the Ministry of Defence.
In mapping out security architecture for the country, the conference accepted the proposal for the creation of a Security and Intelligence Services Oversight Committee (SISOC).
The committee is to be composed of a retired Chief Justice of Nigeria as chairman, a former head of the Civil Service, and a former Director General of the State Security Service or National Intelligence, as members.
Similarly, the conference also accepted the proposal for the establishment of Water Way Safety Corps to man the waterways and riverine areas. The corps is expected to perform similar functions as that of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC)
The proposals mandating government to enact a law that would impose speed limit on convoys of government officials and limit to the number of vehicle to be in such convoys were also accepted by the conference.
The number of vehicles in the convoys is to be determined by Federal Road Safety Corps in consultation with the Police and the Department of States Security Service.
Such a law is expected to reduce the recklessness of convoys of government officials which had in the past led to loss of lives; it would also reduce wastage of government funds.
The conference also agreed that retired military personnel should be mobilized and trained to fight terrorism.
In addition, government was also mandated to set up Counter Terrorism Architecture to among others: harmonize national counter terrorism efforts; and provide the platform for foreign assistance.
It would equally interface between Nigeria and Africa Union (AU) countries especially contiguous states such as Niger, Chad, Cameroun and African Center for the Study and Research on Terrorism and engage the services of well trained counter terrorism operatives to work within the established in-country infrastructure.
The proposal that the federal character outlook of the military be reflected at the entry point into the Nigeria Defense Academy in cases of officers and at the recruitment stages and training depots, in case of soldiers, airmen, and sailors was also accepted by the conference.
Conference also agreed that table of equipment including clothing should be updated regularly instead of waiting for the declaration of a state of emergency.
The conference at its plenary also approved the proposal for the establishment of a Military Industrial Zone which will include but not limited to collaboration with the industrial and manufacturing sector in the area of research and development, production, use and support for military, training weaponry and equipment.
A proposal for a compulsory life insurance for all armed security personnel by government was approved by the government.
The conference also accepted the proposal that the Federal Government should set aside a special fund to rehabilitate and reconstruct the North East, which has suffered devastating attacks from Boko Haram.
Similarly the conference also agreed that all the communities such as Odi in Bayelsa State, Zaki Biam in Benue state and others that were destroyed in the process on restoring internal peace be compensated.
On gender issue, the conference agreed to the proposal that government should ensure gender mainstreaming with respect to recruitment into the Armed Forces and the various security agencies.
The Conference also agreed that there should be a compulsory life insurance for all armed security personnel by government as well as imploring the Federal Government to look into all pending Police Reform Committees/Panel Reports and implement their recommendations.
It was agreed also that the Inspector general of Police should be the accounting officer of the Nigeria Police and be answerable to the Nigeria Police Council on financial matters.
Delegates agreed that the government should review the procedure of using the military in the aid of civil authority in matters of internal security because the existing procedure referred to as the “blue and brown cards” which was signed by the Prime Minister in 1960 is obsolete.
The Nigeria Air Force, the delegates indicated, should be more involved in the management of Total Radar Coverage of Nigeria (TRACON) in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority in securing the country’s airspace.

SIGNED
AKPANDEM JAMES
ASSISTANT SECRETARY, MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION.

VERY RECENTLY....BETWEEN BERGER AND KARA ON THE LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESS ROAD!!!

  • Life means nothing to awa yeye government...dey spend years arguing with State Govts as to who owns highways, instead of repairing the 4ukin shit and making life safer for d hungry population.
  • The other stress of life induced by lack of facilities and infrastructures like water, medical, Nepa, etc is bad enough for d average Nigerian.
  • We are only STATISTICS to be disposed of, while d chopping of awa resources continues.
  • To dem...it is a form of 'population Control'. Dey forget dat their own children and relatives must to ride on such shitty roads as well....ee no matter if you buy jet planes, you go still drive from airport to your 4ukin mansion...abi???

ABUJA BOMB-BLAST UPDATE!!!

Survivors of the latest Abuja bomb blast incident at Emab Plaza have been giving graphic details of how the sad incident went down in broad day light. Below are eyewitnesses account of those who saw it happen:

Bomber pretended to be drunk – Tyokasi
A 22-year-old student of the National Open University of Nigeria, Tyokasi, said:
“I am studying Business Entrepreneurship and Management. On that fateful day, I just crossed over to buy corn because I was a bit hungry. I bought the corn but when I turned
back, I saw the man (bomber) driving a Toyota Sienna and trying to get into the plaza through the exit gate. The security men told him to go back and follow the right way but he was behaving as if he was drunk.
"Within seconds after I left that point, I heard a big bang and found myself on the ground. My right leg was affected. Presently, I can’t stand with it."
The bomber bought newspaper from me – Michael Ojeh
Nineteen-year-old Ojeh said the bomber first bought a newspaper from him and asked irrelevant questions before leaving to enter his vehicle.

“One man wearing caftan came to buy a newspaper from me and was asking me irrelevant questions. Even when I wanted to give him his change, he wasn’t ready to collect it. He kept asking me irrelevant questions. If I answer him, he would laugh and ask another question. Afterwards, he left and entered his vehicle close to the exit gate of the plaza. It was not long after he left that there was an explosion and I saw myself on the road before the police came .”
I’m still searching for my husband ––Mrs Uche Ojeh
Mrs Ojeh, who is Michael's mother, said she was still searching for her husband, Rufus. She said:

“My husband left home around 5 am on Thursday. My son, Michael helps someone to sell newspapers by the plaza. I have seen my son but I have not seen my husband. My son told me he saw his father as he went to pick a passenger. He gave Michael some money and said after dropping off the passenger, he would go and watch the Nigeria- Argentina World Cup match at home.

"He wanted Michael to follow him but the boy said no. Michael said a man who came to buy newspaper was using delay tactics by asking him questions and immediately he (bomber) left, the bomb exploded. The blood of the bomber was all over my son’s body. As I talk to you now, I don’t know where my husband is. We are still searching for him."

I saw corpses everywhere – Ademola
Twenty four-year-old Ademola, who is a fashion designer, also said the bomber insisted on going into the Plaza through the exit gate. He added:

“When he (bomber) was challenged by the security men at the exit gate, he insisted on going ahead. As he bent his head towards the Sienna that he was driving, I told my friend that we should get away from there.
Within a few seconds, there was an explosion. Many people died and that is why I give thanks to Almighty God. I saw many corpses on the ground. Heads, hands and legs littered everywhere.

I thought my head was blown off – Olatunji
Olatunji, a student of Biology/Integrated Science at the Federal College of Education, Kontangora, Niger State, said he arrived in Abuja from Oyo State on Wednesday only to be welcomed by the blast. He said:

“I came from Oyo State yesterday (Wednesday) to hustle and make some money for my school fees before the end of the strike by Polytechnics and colleges of education workers.

:As a casual staff with Glo, I normally get sim cards to sell and make some money. The incident happened when we were going to the mosque to observe the 4pm prayer. On our way, we saw some people arguing and they didn’t allow a car to enter the plaza.

"As the argument continued, I heard an explosion and immediately, I saw human flesh and bones littering everywhere. I was confused and I didn't know what I was doing again. I thought my head had been blown off by the blast. I touched my head while on the ground and realized that it was there. I stood up and was looking for help, but help didn’t come immediately."

PREGNANT RUNNER!!!

TWENTY-EIGHT year old Olympian and five-time U.S. National Champion Alysia Montano ran an 800m race at the Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California, yesterday and people questioned her safety!!!

Alysia received a standing ovation after completing the race in 2 minutes, 32.13 seconds, 35 seconds slower than her personal best of 1:57.34, which she smashed back in 2010 in a race in Monaco.
"I've been running throughout my pregnancy and I felt really, really good during the whole process.' Alysia said after the race...
Doctors gave her the OK to run but isn't this too rigorous for a woman so pregnant? See more photos after the cut...
