My hearty congratulations to His Excellency, General Muhammadu Buhari, for being elected the next president of our beloved county, Nigeria. You have led our party, the All Progressives Congress to an unprecedented victory within two years of it’s official formation, and in so doing, written the most important chapter of our democracy.

The great Nnamdi Azikiwe once wrote that “history will continue to vindicate the just”. Your victory in the polls, with votes from across the length and breadth of our country, bears witness to the acceptance of not just our party, the APC, but also your ideology of justice, fair play and zero tolerance for corruption as the bedrock for national rebirth.

At this historic moment, it is most important to say a hearty thank you to every Nigerian who voted for the APC. Your votes have not just elected the first opposition party into federal power, but has also set a precedent which will have positive implications for democracy across Africa.

Dear GMB, the journey has just begun. Millions of Nigerians have put their trust in you, because they were not satisfied with the status quo. You represent the hope of a new generation of Nigerians, and you cannot afford to fail them. Our party has made a promise of change to our young people, to secure and rebuild our country, create jobs and opportunity, and improve citizens’ welfare. We will stand behind you to ensure we keep those promises, just like we did during these elections.

Our country needs a new direction. We have voted for you, and our party won the election, but when you assume our highest office, you must become the president of not just the APC, but all of Nigeria, including the people who did not vote for you. FIVE GOOD WAYS TO LOSE AN ELECTION !!!

Nigerians are so used to the idea that an incumbent should win presidential elections that President Goodluck Jonathan's failure to beat Gen Muhammadu Buhari needs some explaining. Here are five reasons why the opposition won:

1: Harder to rig
Past elections have been marred by serious irregularities and suspicions of rigging. In 2007 observers said the presidential poll was not "credible". In 2011 the vote was considered to be better run but observers said that rigging and fraud still took place.
This time the electoral commission took more steps to prevent rigging, including new biometric voters cards.
Also President Jonathan's party, the People's Democratic Party (PDP), had lost control of some key states which meant it could not control the electoral process there.

2: Boko Haram and security

The Nigerian army has made some recent gains against Boko Haram, but not enough to convince Nigerians
The election took place against the background of an Islamist insurgency in the north-east of the country. The Boko Haram militant group has killed 20,000 people and forced some three million others from their homes and President Jonathan was criticised for not getting to grips with this.
The poll was delayed for six weeks to give time for the security situation to improve, but even though most areas controlled by Boko Haram were recaptured, it seems to have come too late for many people.

3: United opposition, crumbling PDP

The extra six weeks of vigorous campaigning by the PDP was not enough to halt the slide in the party's fortunes
The PDP has been described as an election-winning machine. When it was created it united a northern elite with leading politicians from the south, but that alliance has broken up and the party lost some key figures. Even former President Olusegun Obasanjo came out against Mr Jonathan.
At the same time, the opposition managed to unite under the All Progressives Congress (APC) banner. The last six weeks of desperate and dirty campaigning, in which the APC responded in kind, was not enough to turn the tide.

4: Economy

Nigeria's economy is growing but the wealth is not being spread around
Nigeria is Africa's biggest oil producer and its largest economy, but many fail to feel the benefits with nearly half the population living below the poverty line. Continued corruption is seen as partly being to blame.
National income is due to grow by more than 5% this year and next year, but people did not seem in the mood to thank Mr Jonathan for this.

5: Time for a change

APC supporters chanted "change" wherever they went and it seems to have caught the mood. The PDP has been in power since the end of military rule in 1999, and 2015 is the year that Nigerians decided that someone else should have a go at sorting things out.

President-elect Buhari now has to prove he really can change things.

• And one thing is for sure... Buhari will grill...IBRU, BABALAKIN, FANI-KAYODE, GBENGA DANIEL, DIMEJI BANKOLE, DAT USELESS GIRL (FORMER AVIATION MINISTER), PRESENT AVIATION BOY MINISTER WEY CHOP ROAD SAFETY MONEY BY PRINTING USELESS NUMBER PLATES TWO TIMES WITH NO BENEFIT TO NIGERIANS. AND THEN FINALLY GIVE EFCC SOME MUSCLES.

JEGA: AS COOL AS 'ICE WATER' !!!

After PDP party agent Godsday Orubebe created an embarrassing scene at the collation centre in Abuja this morning, trying to disrupt announcement of results (read here) a very calm Jega told him;

"Mr Orubebe, you are a former Minister of the Federal Republic .You are a statesman in your own right. You should be careful about what you say or what allegations or accusations you make. Certainly you should be careful about your public conduct"

Jega's response to Orubebe has been hailed as mature and worthy of praise. In fact, there's a meaning for Jega now. 'Jega' - meaning - 'To be inexplicably chilled in the midst of stupidity or conflict". lol. Prof Jega's full response after the cut 

"You have made two comments. One is that you submitted a petition  which I refused to accept. Secondly you claimed that there was a result released by the APC which you alleged that we gave to them or I gave to them. With regards to the first point, yesterday after we took the first batch of results in this hall and as we declared a recess until 4pm, as I was walking down back to the office, my PA came to me and said that here are some papers that Dr Bello Fadile, a representative of the PDP said that he should collect it; that I said Dr Fadile should give him those papers. I told him that I didn't tell Dr Fadile to give any papers to you. Return them to him because Dr Fadile, after we declared for recess came on to this platform. As a party agent, he is not supposed to do that and gave some documents to my PA who is writing results here. and I am sure some of the agents and some of the pressmen may have seen that and I told my PA to take back those documents to him. If he told you I told him to give you any documents, I did not. Take them back to him, Subsequently, Dr Fadile sent me a text message saying that there are petitions and that he wants to submit them. I told him we don't collect petitions on the platform when we are declaring results and then he said I should have left my office open so that they can submit those petitions in my office. I told him our secretary, the secretary to the commission is not anywhere in this hall. She is in her office and that her business is to receive communication. If they are important enough, she would bring them to me here. I have started collation. I cannot be receiving petition in this hall or in this platform. And when I replied that text message, he replied again and said Okay, he will see what he can do. I interpreted the text as he was going to take that petition or whatever document he has to the secretary of the commission. As I speak with you now, I have not received anything from the secretary to the commission. That is regards to the issue of the so called petition. 

Regarding results published by APC on its website, I do not give results to anybody. The results were announced formally as INEC are results declared here. And we have warned everybody to be careful and to ensure that the do not declare results which we have not officially announced. So as far as I am concerned I have not seen any results. I have not given anybody any results. So for you to even engage me on that issue I think frankly that is not fair to me. I have not seen the results. How can I speak on something that I have not seen. So please let us be careful of what we say or do so that we do not disrupt a process that has ended peacefully and in a matter of hours we would be able to finish it.". Jega said

FAYOSE CHANGES GEAR !!!

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged Nigerians to accept the outcome of the Saturday presidential election in good faith, saying;

 “the election result is the will of God and Nigerians , and all lovers of peace, progress and development of Nigeria must accept it.”

In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Fayose hailed the resilience and commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan and General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd). Adding that the election results should not been seen as victory or loss for any political party, because

“To me, Nigerians and democracy won. By this election, Nigerians have shown that Democracy has come to stay in the country. 

I salute Nigerians, especially the great people of Ekiti State. I salute President Jonathan
for laying the most solid foundation for democracy in Nigeria.  And I salute Major General Buhari for being a resilience and dogged fighter. 

I urge Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliation to respect the outcome of the election in the interest of peace, progress and development of the country. Nigeria as a country is greater than any individual or group and it is my plea that no one should do anything to rock the boat of peace in the country.”

Mandela’s Oldest Grandson Convicted Of Assault.

Nelson Mandela's oldest grandson, who is also a member of South Africa's parliament, was today found guilty of assaulting a motorist two years ago.

A magistrates' court in Mthatha, in Eastern Cape province, heard charges brought against Mandla Mandela by a local motorist, who accused the 40-year-old of assaulting him during a road-rage incident.

The magistrate found Mandla Mandela guilty of assault with grievous bodily harm, and acquitted him on a charge of pointing a firearm. A pre-sentencing hearing has been scheduled for early June.

We expect our members to follow the same process as well. This party has a tradition of decency and will follow democratic channels to lay complaints. Buhari campaign group call for the arrest of Femi Fani-Kayode.

Buhari Support Group has called on the law enforcement agents to effect the arrest of Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for saying that PDP had won in 23 states even when INEC had not announced any results. The group at a press conference in Abuja yesterday March 30th said Fani-Kayode through his action breached the electoral law

"We strongly condemn in its entirety, the recent outburst and blatant misinformation of the general public by Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode that the PDP is already leading in 23 states of the federation. This claim is a total breach of the electoral act and is designed to cause the breach of peace. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari had repeatedly emphasised to his supporters to maintain calmness in that face of provocation by the ruling party. This recent utter exhibition of lawlessness enmeshed in the typical character of impunity by PDP is unacceptable. We ask the security agencies to immediately effect the arrest of Mr. Fani-Kayode for breaching relevant sections of the electoral act which forbids any organ outside INEC from officially declaring election results. His arrest for further questioning will be a clear indication that the security agencies are truly unbiased participants in this electoral process as this declaration is also a breach of both the 1st and 2nd Abuja Peace Accord. We call on the international community and observers to note the steps being taken by PDP to cause severe breach of peace and call them to order. RIVERS STATE IS HOT-HOT !!!

Amaechi Imposes Dusk-To-Dawn Curfew On Port Harcourt.

The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Port Harcourt, the state capital, hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the result of the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state, Premium Times reports.

In a terse statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, George Feyi, the governor said the curfew will hold from 7p.m. to 6a.m.

“The curfew will continue till further notice,” a part of the statement said.

The declaration of the curfew comes amidst heightened tension occasioned by the conduct of last Saturday’s election in the state.

Mr. Amaechi and the All Progressives Congress had boycotted the polls over the failure of INEC to supply result sheets to many polling units especially in the party strongholds.

But the elections continued despite the boycott and the result of both the presidential and National Assembly polls were announced at about 2pm amidst protests and call for cancellation by the APC.

In a blockbuster new interview, Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka has told The Guardian (UK) that until he told President Goodluck Jonathan, the Nigerian leader did not know for an entire five days that Morocco, a friendly but angry country, had withdrawn its ambassador from Nigeria.

“He jumped up as if his seat was on fire,” Soyinka said of the moment Jonathan learned of the situation, adding that it was that night that the president made a public statement about it for the first time. 

Speaking further about Jonathan's many troubles, Prof Soyinka said:

“So when I say that there is a force around, I know what I’m talking about. 

"There is a very sinister force in control and it is that sinister cabal which is responsible for caging him in and showing him what they think he should know about and keeping away from him things which are not in their interest, and this for me is the most dangerous situation that any nation can be in.”

BOMB THREAT ON TURKISH AIRLINE !!!

Turkish Airlines TK15 Makes Emergency Landing After 'Bomb Threat' Was Found In Toilet.

A Turkish Airlines plane has been forced to make an emergency landing after receiving a chilling bomb threat. The plane, Flight TK15 from Istanbul to Sao Paulo, had to land in Casablanca shortly after taking off and a report of a bomb threat was received.

A note pasted on a toilet door simply read "Bomb", which made the plane to make an emergency landing shortly after.  The terrifying threat is the second to hit the company in less than a day.

It was reported that yesterday morning, Turkish Airlines Flight TK52 from Istanbul to Tokyo was forced to return to Ataturk International Airport just moments after taking off. The crew received a message that “C-4 cargo” was on board, and immediately alerted authorities. There has been no update on whether or not these threats were true or false.

The man in the photo above was allegedly shot dead by a soldier this morning at Bauchi's INEC Office after the military tried to gain access into the office. Residents of the state had blocked the military from entering the office as results were being collated and this sparked the violence. The residents had held a vigil outside the INEC office to await the announcement of last Saturday's election when the military showed up. Another man was hit by a stray bullet.

INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega has just announced the final results of the presidential elections of 8 States in Nigeria. The States are Ogun, Enugu, Kogi, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, Oyo, Nasarawa and the FCT, Abuja. And here are the official final results as announced by him. This is the one you should believe.

Some guidelines for happiness I wrote down. Appreciate what you have, gaining more won't make you happy if you aren't happy with what you already have. Live in the moment, don't video everything you see, take it in whilst it is happening, then relive the memories forever. You were there but looking at a phone screen...? Give more than you receive, be it your time, money, gifts, love and laughs. When you give someone your best, the best comes out of you. Stop worrying about your future! Your future is going to happen, it is yours to happen to. If you want something then work towards it, but make sure you are happy on the way there. We are all going to die, concentrate on living. Don't practice escapism because you are unhappy with your reality, be real, keep level headed and make sense of your life. Being high or drunk all the time is a problem, nobody wants to be ill or crazy or both! Life is a journey not a destination, you never want to get too comfortable, comfort is where you put on weight, get slow, become bored. I'm not saying throw yourself out of a plane, but you should try to do something that scares you now and again. Don't worry to much what other people are doing, they are on their own journeys, enjoy yours, try not to compare your behind the scenes life to someone else's highlight reel. Bling from the inside out, not the outside in, as it doesn't work the other way round. What's in your heart and head shines brighter than what's on your wrist and neck. Love your work, this will be a big part of your life.

Presidential election results so far! PDP in early lead..

INEC has announced results for 8 states and the FCT, Abuja - (total 9) and so far PDP is leading with 2,332,734 votes while APC has 2,302,978 votes, though APC won five states and PDP four states. 

The commission has reconvened till 8pm tonight to allow sufficient time for other states to bring in their results. We are still expecting results for 27 states. We will continue by 8pm. Stay tuned!

Busty Nollywood actress, Ronke Oshodi-Oke has revealed that she finds it difficult getting her Bra size.

According to her,

Don’t Panic, Presidency Tells Jonathan’s Supporters.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, has told President Jonathan’s supporters not to panic over fake results been manipulated by APC informing Nigerians that Buhari is leading in the presidential race. Abati says only Ekiti State’s results have been announced and the President won, he said. Below is what he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday.

“Our numerous supporters (both home and abroad) are reaching out to us and requesting that we should say something.

“We can assure you that we are on top of everything.

“INEC has already addressed the issue of viral ‘opposition’ sponsored fake results that they should be ignored.

“So far, the only announced concluded official result from anywhere is from EKITI state.”

“A resounding victory for President Jonathan! Don’t be fooled or panic. We say thank you.”

We shall know the truth today. Meanwhile ECOWAS says its satisfied with the way the Nigerian election was carried out.
