BOKO-HARAM CORNERED!!!

Boko Haram Twitter Account Suspended.

Boko Haram Twitter account which was opened recently and has been used to circulate videos and photos of attacks carried out in some Northern parts of the country has been suspended today by Twitter. It will be recalled that Abubakar Shekau recently shifted his base to the social media site since most of the videos he puts on youtube are usually brought down after a while.
Some of the videos he posted on the account before it was brought down today were hosted on sendvid before he then pastes them on twitter while images were hosted on Justpaste.it with messages in Arabic, English or Hausa language following it.
Al-Shabaab, a militant Somali group, Islamic Jihad Union, Indian Mujahideen, and Al-Qaida, have all used twitter in the past, but were all yanked off, due to violent messages the groups usually posts.

EX-BOXER BASH ALI IN THE 'COOLER'!!!

Bash Ali arrested, charged to court for constituting public nuisance.

Nigerian boxing icon, Bash Ali was arrested last week Wednesday Feb. 11th in front of a bank in Abuja for constituting public nuisance. Not only was he arrested, he was locked up in a cell and charged to court for the offense.

According to reports, the boxer and three other boxers had gone to the Nigerian Export Import Bank, NEXIM, in Abuja last week to demand for the sponsorship the bank was asked by president Jonathan to give to the Boxers Association for a Guinness Book of Record fight. When they didn't pay him attention, Bash Ali and the men allegedly created drama in front of the bank premises The management of the bank called in the police and accused the boxer and the others of threatening to bomb their bank building

The four of them were arrested and charged before an Abuja based court for constituting public nuisance and threat to live. They were remanded at the SARS prison that day. When interrogated, the former Boxer accused the bank manager, one Mr Henry Orya of demanding a 10% commission from the $30 million US sponsorship fund the presidency allegedly instructed the bank to give the boxers as sponsorship. He denied the allegations that he threatened to bomb the bank premises.

“I never said I will bomb their office. If any institution owned by government disobeys the order of Mr. President because of corruption, that institution should be closed down. That is what I said”he said
The bank has denied they ever asked him for bribe, saying they didn't give him the sponsorship because they don't sponsor sports activities
"NEXIM does not finance sports activities. Notwithstanding this explanation, Bash Ali did not relent but decided to adopt every means to extort the $1, 000,000. 00 from the Bank" the bank in a statement said.
Bash Ali and the other three men are due to appear in court on March 4th when the case and his bail application will be heard

EGYPT POUND ISIS !!!

Egypt launches air strikes on ISIS after terror group behead 21 Egyptian Christians in Libya.

Egypt has launched air strikes on ISIS hours after the terror group released a video showing the beheading of 21 Coptic Christians in Libya. The very graphic and disturbing video was released last night and it showed the terrorists, all dressed in head to toe in black, marching the captives, all wearing orange jumpsuits, to a beach where they were all beheaded by each militant standing behind them.

The men were killed just because they were Christians. Egyptian warplanes this morning attacked ISIS targets in Libya. A spokesman for the Egyptian Armed Forces announced the strikes on state radio, saying it was in retribution for the slaughter of the Christians.

NA BY HOOK OR CROOK !!!

Asari explodes again: Jonathan Must Win Presidential Election'

Asari Dokubo, like the PDP, is advocating for a return to the temporary voter cards. In this interview with Vanguard, he insisted that President Jonathan is facing unusual opposition to his second term bid because some people feel they have the divine right to rule Nigeria. Excerpts:

Is it not surprising to you that the security agencies united to say they couldn’t provide security for the elections which primarily necessitated the postponement?
That does not concern me. I don’t speak for the military.

But most people see it as conspiracy against democracy...

What is conspiracy when INEC has not been able to provide PVCs? When it has made sure that in Rivers State, only 56 percent of the population have their PVCs? What of the remaining Rivers people that they want to disenfranchise? My wife has not collected her PVC.

Should that have made the military to recommend the postponement of the elections?
I am not concerned about the military. It is not my business what Nigerian military does. You know where I am coming from. So whatever the Nigerian military says, it is their business.

How do you react to the postponement of the elections?
I am not in support of the postponement if all the preparations had been done. In fact, I have sapped myself. I worked to the point that I nearly passed out. I was addressing Muslims in Lagos on the 31st of January and I collapsed because I had not been having enough sleep and time for myself. I had thought that the elections would come for me to go the Saudi Arabia and thank Allah for the victory he has granted us.

But a situation where over 20 million are deliberately going to be disenfranchised by INEC, that’s not fair. It is very hypocritical of the United States; I think the president has been giving a lot of people unnecessary opportunities to meddle in the internal affairs of Nigeria. Nigeria is a sovereign state. It is not a satellite of the United States of America. Will anybody in the US say that 100 people should be disenfranchised not to talk of 20 million people? Is it Goodluck Jonathan or the PDP that stopped INEC since 2011 to make preparations for 100 percent distribution of the PVCs? How come 36 percent of the PVCs has been collected in Lagos and over 75 percent PVCs has been collected in Borno State where, according to their quotes, about 20 LGAs are in the hands of insurgents? This lends credence to the suspicion that the APC is working with the insurgents. I listened to Senator Mamora on television and he said that local government elections were conducted in Borno and Yobe States. What was the magic? What agreement did they have? God is revealing these people. Who are collecting the PVCs in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe States? How come Borno and Yobe have collected more PVCs than Lagos, Rivers, Imo States? Who is deliberately hoarding the PVCs? Is it Goodluck Jonathan? Have they compromised INEC? I was a member of ACN, so I know how they operate during elections. I know that before elections, when PDP is dealing with the top cadre of the security agencies, APC relates with the DPOs, DCOs, the rank and file.

Is that not a wild allegation?
It is not a wild allegation. I can give evidence. As somebody who was very active in ACN at the highest echelon, i dealt with the national leadership of the party directly and I know how they operate during elections. We keep quiet because we have friends there. But friends are no longer behaving like friends. So, we too should behave the way we behave.

But that was ACN.
ACN? It is ACN that has transmuted into APC because ACN is APC. All the others are just affiliates. They are associates. The driving force of the party is ACN. They are using the so-called idle followership of Buhari in the North. The machine, the intelligentsia, the think tank, everything is ACN. That is the way they rig election. In the judiciary, in INEC, they have people they work directly with. So, the elections should not be held with the PVC. No. The temporary voter cards, since INEC is unable to distribute all the PVCs, we should use the temporary one. PVC is not in our law. PVC testing machine is not known to our law. The electoral law does not recognise it. There is no e-voting. So, we should go back to the temporary voter card. INEC is deliberately disenfranchising some Nigerians. The constitutional right of a person is sacred to vote and be voted for. My wife contested House of

A candidate in Reps election in 2011, up till now, she cannot find her PVC. And it is the responsibility of INEC to provide the PVC. It is none of my business if somebody wants to come and pay me money and he says he went to the bank and armed robbers stole the money from him. So, if hoodlums stole PVCs, what’s my business? Bring my PVC. It is my right to vote and be voted for. You cannot deny me that right.

You advocate for 100 percent collection of the PVC but do you think it is possible for everyone to collect his PVC? Besides, no law has said so.
That is an assumption. You cannot deliberately circumvent the law. You can’t trample upon the law.
Even when there is no law to compel the people to collect the PVC?

But all the people who registered have their temporary voter cards. So, if we are not ready with the PVC, we can take their PVC to them. Their address is there. The bio-data are there. So, we can take it to them.

You are an ardent supporter of President Jonathan. Can you share what you have done so far to ensure his victory at the polls?
I have campaigned. There is nothing I can tell you more than that. I have reached out. We have networked and we are still doing it. We are not sleeping. We are not losing a second.

Most people are still quick to say that amid other challenges, the economy is down under the president’s watch. Many believe such may work against his re-election. How do you react? There was a global recession that swept across the West: Britain, US, Japan and so on. Today it is the turn of the oil and gas producing countries. Is it only Nigeria? Ghana economy is in tatters even though oil contributes very little to Ghana. Ghana’s currency is falling everyday. Dubai is in trouble. They have devalued their currency by 37 percent as at the last count. Russia is in trouble. Angola is almost going bankrupt. So, it is a global economic trend. It is not only Nigeria. But does the opposition have the recipe to manage the economy? On a television interview posted online, one of the campaign managers of General Buhari was seen with loads of dollars in his breast pockets. But he struggled to cover it. How can leaders be spending dollars and not Naira, thereby depleting the foreign exchange capacity of the country? And we know that most of them don’t spend Naira. They spend dollars, pounds and euros. That is what is causing the crisis in the economy. It is more demands for foreign currency than we earn from our resources and so the economy will be going down. It is all Nigerians that must work. Whatever policy on the ground, money laundering policy, etcetera, if the people are not ready to abide by the rules, hard and stringent economy rules, then we will have a problem.
Do you see him winning the elections in six weeks time?
I have always told you that we had already won. We will win. They will complain and we are ready for them. This election is between me and the Gambari North.

FAYOSE: YOU NO GET ELDERS FOR HOUSE???

Obasanjo is Nigeria's number one enemy, he is a cancer - Fayose.

Press statement from the office of the Ekiti state government below...

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as the number one enemy of Nigeria, saying; "he is a confusionist who has lost his status as a statesman and Nigerians should simply ignore him."
The governor,  who expressed confidence that President Goodluck Jonathan will be reelected to complete his eight years term, added that; "Obasanjo is only fighting President Jonathan because he prevented him (Obasanjo) from ruling Nigeria from his Ota Farm."

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said "Obasanjo is a cancer that may never get cured in a lifetime.

"The moment Obasanjo is not the one controlling a house, he will want the house pulled down but this time around, he has failed."

The governor said; "Obasanjo has always benefited from the misfortune of others and he is living with the impression that he is the wisest person in the whole world.

"When Murtala Mohammed was murdered in 1976, Obasanjo was the beneficiary.

"In 1993, he said the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, late Chief MKO Abiola was not the Messiah Nigeria needed. Instead of Obasanjo to join the clamour for the actualisation of Abiola's mandate, Obasanjo was canvassing for an Interim National Government, which he schemed to head.

"MKO Abiola died in detention in 1997 and Obasanjo became the beneficiary of his (Abiola) death.

"Despite the fact that it was the blood of MKO Abiola that Obasanjo matched on to power, not even a street was named after Abiola throughout Obasanjo’s eight years as president.

"Today, Obasanjo is fighting President Jonathan,  the man who has done what he failed to do for Abiola, the Yoruba people and Nigerians as a whole when he was president for eight years, simply because he does not want anyone to equal his record as Nigeria's longest serving president.

"President Jonathan has made it impossible for Obasanjo to run his presidency for him and for this reason, he is supporting Buhari, hoping that he will be the one to nominate ministers for Buhari if he becomes president.

"Abanije eniyan to nba eeyan je kiri, ojo to ba dekun ibaje ni won maa ba oun naa je kanle ( He who destroys will ultimately ends up in destruction).

"However, I have this bad news for Obasanjo. Nigeria is not his football that he can kick around as he likes. President Jonathan will be reelected, and Nigeria will be freed from his (Obasanjo) bondage once and for all."

OBJ FIRES ANOTHER 'SHAKABULA' !!!

OBJ slams GEJ again, says he is afraid Buhari might jail him when he leaves office.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday came hard again on President Jonathan and his style of governance, claiming that President Jonathan is afraid that if Gen Buhari wins the election, he might jail him when he leaves office. Obasanjo said this while speaking to newsmen at his home in Abeokuta shortly after his return from his trip to Kenya and UK.

Obasanjo said President Jonathan was doing everything possible to win the elections, either by hook or by crook. He said president Jonathan is playing the cards of former Cote d’Ivoire President, Laurent Gbagbo who continued shifting elections in his country in a bid to ensure that he won the election, a situation that plunged Cote d'Ivoire into political crisis. He said President Jonathan was reigning and not ruling after he said in his last media chat he was not aware of the military's advise that the election be postponed. He said INEC deciding to postpone the election was a forced decision. Read all that after the cut...

"While I was away, I refused to make any categorical statement on this issue because I wanted to come back home and learn at firsthand what actually transpired and what was going on, and it turned out to be a forced decision on the INEC because it was alleged that the Security Chiefs were unable to provide security, and as a result the Chairman of INEC had to postpone, in accordance with the dictates of the so called Security Chiefs. I thought, for me, that was bad precedent for democracy in Nigeria. It meant it doesn't matter what preparation or lack of preparation any electoral body could make in Nigeria. The final decision whether election will take place on the day scheduled for it lies in the domain of security. It is a sad day for democracy in Nigeria. I will say this: we must all feel concerned before democracy is killed. The observable and what would appear to be happening is that the president has a grand plan, a grand plan to ensure that by hook or by crook, he wins the election or if it all fails, he scuttles it and creates chaos, confusion and unpleasantness in the whole country. It is the duty and function and responsibility of the security officers to provide security. The President is the Chief Security Officer of the country and he is the Commander- in -Chief and if security is required anywhere, anytime, it is his duty to provide it. Failure to provide it is dereliction of duty. Pure and simple. Whether the President is following his own grand plan or his aides and associates are working a script, they are playing a script which must have got his endorsement, if not initiated by him. What again, it looks to me that the President is trying to play Gbagbo (Laurent). Gbagbo is the former President of Cote d’Ivoire and Gbagbo made sure he postponed the election in his country until he was sure he would win and then allowed the election to take place. He got an inconclusive election in the first ballot. And I believe this is the sort of thing Nigeria may fall into. If I am right in what I observed as the grand plan and then in the run-off, Gbagbo lost with 8% behind Quattara and then refused to hand over. All reasonable persuasion and pleading was rebuffed by him and he unleashed horror in that country until nemesis caught up with him. I believe that we may be seeing a repeat of Gbagbo or what I called the Gbagbo saga here in Nigeria, I hope not.” he said

Obasanjo said the reasons given by military chiefs who called for election postponement is not tenable and that if they have failed, they should as well leave office and go home

“When they have failed, they can as well go home. Their job is to maintain law and order and provide security at any time and at any place. They said they cannot do it, they have failed. I want to believe that this was forced on them, I want to believe that but whether it was forced on them or it was their initiative, it was bad, very bad. I hope we will never have a repeat performance of this in this country again. The unfortunate thing is this: they are over exposing themselves or they are being over exposed by whoever brought about that way of doing things, and for me, a momentous decision like that cannot be taken and implemented by the security chiefs. It was even made worse when the President in the media chat on the 11th of this month claimed not to have knowledge or not to have authorized it. I get worried, very worried, that if the President of Nigeria is not in-charge of security, maintenance of law and order and such a decision can be taken behind him, assuming that is true, then the President must be reigning but not ruling. And who then are the shadow figures that are ruling us? It means that one day we will find out that  this country would be plunged into chaos, into commotion and into confusion and the President would say, ‘I do not know about it’, of course President(Jonathan) can run but he cannot run past God. He has constitutional responsibility and to claim he doesn’t know is not an excuse. So, I do hope that those Service Chiefs who we are proud of the services people like me and others like me have rendered and proud of what they are doing, will not shame themselves and shame us. This is because what this amounts to is what, in the military circle, is called very an unmilitary conduct and conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline. For me, you can give any excuse or you can give any rationalization or you can rationalize anything. Look Boko Haram problem has been with us since 2009 and now if we say what we have not been able to achieve since 2009 would be achieved in six weeks, all I would say is that God is a God of miracle. God can do anything but knowing what we know, look countries like Syria had election, they have full scale war all over the country. A country like Iraq had election, they had full scale war and they are still having war. Countries like Afghanistan had election, they even had election where the incumbent served his term and moved out. Even Colombia where the rebel group (FARC) has been active for more than 50 years has been having elections regularly and FARC is still very active. So, to say that what we have not been able to achieve in five years, we will achieve in six weeks, let us wait and see. When people want to make excuses, they should look for excuses that are tenable. I believe the President’s fear is not leaving office per se, because he and I have had occasions to talk about this both seriously and jovially. I believe President would want an opportunity to disengage peacefully and have a nice, decent and a glorious exit, I believe the President’s fear is, particularly, motivated by those who he see as Gen Buhari as his likely successor. I believe those people would have been telling him that Buhari is a hard man, he would fight corruption and you may end up in jail if not in grave. I believe people must have told him all sorts of things and he is not the only one, there are other people who may be afraid of Buhari. But why? I would say that Buhari has learnt his lessons. If he hasn’t learnt lessons, then he would be probably the most unlearning human being. If he has learnt lessons, he would know that you do not fight corruption by putting people in jail for 200 years. And this has been done by my own predecessor in office, General Abdulsalami Abubakar. He recovered over $750 million from Abacha’s estate without putting anybody in jail, without hurting or harming anybody. When I took over, we recovered over $1.25 billion from the same Abacha estate without hurting anybody, without harming anybody. In fact, what would be rather unfortunate is the fact that our lawyer who is still alive and able, who was chasing this money all over the world, said to us that there’s still about $1 billion to be recovered from Abacha estate but the unfortunate thing is that my successor did not do anything about it even though it was in my handing over note. I don’t think the President is afraid of being out. There’s life after Aso Villa. It depends, of course to a large extent, on how he descendsý; how his descent takes place; and how his exit takes place. Because out there in the international world, there’s so much need for the wisdom and experience of people who have done it before. They also want people who are creditable and credible.” he said

According to President Obasanjo, General Buhari would give a firm leadership to Nigeria and preside over an efficient and effective economy

"Whoever comes in at anytime in future will fight corruption, and we must even encourage successful fight of corruption. We must. Recklessness and impunity must not continue to be our part of life. Whether recklessness and impunity in the management of our economic affairs, in the running of our finances and even in political affairs, they must not be allowed to remain part of us. Buhari  has tried to do it before. I believe he will give firm leadership which is what is good for a country like this. When he was there, it was the military and military is both the executive and the legislature. In a democracy, that is not possible. I believe he knows the military, the damage that has been done to the military. It has been rendered almost impotent by a number of things that have happened and I believe he will do something about it. And if he doesn’t do it, I would say shame on him if he gets there because that is some of the things he knows. I believe he can preside over an efficient and effective economy. He has the knowledge, he has the experience, he may not be a bowl of fire as an economist but he presided over it.” he said
He advised President Jonathan to stop listening to those creating the phobia of Buhari in him
"He should not listen to those who are creating phobia, phobia of Buhari, phobia of enquiry and all that. President Jonathan has done well to the best of his ability and he has made history as the first elected Nigerian from a minority tribe and nobody can take that away from him. He can even make a second history, if it turns out that way. If he contests a fair, free and transparent election and loses, take a dignified exit. He will be on the mountain top and he would be acclaimed as a true patriot and a true democrat. What stops him from doing this?” he said.

HEIGHT OF MADNESS !!!

Teenage Girl Who Is Sleeping With Her Father.

In an interview to New York Magazine’s The Science of Us, the 18-year-old girl has given details of her two year relationship with her biological father. In fact, they are planning to marry this April.

In the interview, the young woman tells New York Magazine’s Alexa Tsoulis-Reay about her upbringing, her estrangement from her father and their reunion.
In her words: "There’s a reason I lost my virginity to him — because I’d never felt comfortable with any other man. It was insanely sensual. It lasted for about an hour and there was a lot of foreplay. We both had orgasms. We are so similar, so it’s so easy to s*xually please each other. For example, we both love neck-biting. I’ve never been in a more passionate, loving, fulfilling relationship."

“I have some memories. He spoiled me rotten. I had this giant storage tote of Barbie dolls and I had my own Mary-Kate and Ashley bedroom. It was a little girl’s dream. We’d sit in the yard blowing bubbles together, and he took me to the zoo where he bought me a stuffed animal that I kept until I was 16. I ended up washing it and stupidly put it in the dryer, which melted all its fur. I remember he gave me a miniature tea set. I still have it. After the divorce with my mum, my mum left with me and I didnt see him until 12 years later”

After they made contact on Facebook, she and her dad realised that they had quite a bit in common.

“We chit-chatted online for a few days and found out we were similar. We shared the same favorite TV shows — The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory — and we both love to draw. He came to see me about a week later. You wouldn’t have believed we hadn’t been around each other for 12 years. The idea of “getting to know him” seemed strange because we are so much alike. He came and hung out all day and then I asked to come spend a week with him”.

During the stay with her father, the pair became closer. The father was still living with his girlfriend at the time, but because his daughter was feeling anxious, her father slept on the couch and she slept on the floor. Things got…hard.

“Sleeping in new places makes me very anxious so I asked him to stay with me in case I had one of the terrible nightmares I usually experience. The second night I had him sleep on the couch again and then the third night I fell asleep with him on the floor lying on his chest, in his arms. The fourth night rolled around and we ended up on the floor again. This time we actually cuddled. When he woke up, we were spooning. I didn’t know this at the time but later, after we admitted our feelings, he told me he had had “morning erection” and had gone to fix it.

That night we were play-wrestling in the room I was going to sleep in and I bit him. He was wearing a pair of basketball shorts and a tank top and after I bit him I could see goose bumps pop up from his toes to his shoulders. Then he pinched my inner thigh and I got goose bumps.

We stopped and said that we didn’t know what was going on but admitted that we had strong feelings for each other. We discussed whether it was wrong and then we kissed. And then we made out, and then we made love for the first time. That was when I lost my virginity.
And it was apparently pleasing (argh!)

He made sure I wanted to do it. We both initiated it and he kept asking me if I was okay, not because he thought I was distressed but because he wanted me to know that we could stop at any point. It was like any other man and woman having sex after they had each admitted their feelings.

It wasn’t weird at all. It felt so natural. It didn’t even feel taboo. I felt like I had just made love with a man who I’d been with for years i love him. he is the man for me and we are moving to New Jersey where it is legal so we can get married this April”. She concluded

The phenomenon of genetic s*xual attraction (or GSA) is a case where family members are sexually attracted to each other because of similarity in DNA and is more common where close relatives first meet as adults. The idea is that people are attracted to people who are like them. In some cases very, very like them. It has been recorded in cases where adopted children meet their biological parents or adult siblings meet for the first time.

Presidency uncovers PDP Governors who are working for APC.

Trust nobody is the name of the game. With the storm over the shift of polls yet to settle, the Presidency has run into a fix over what to do with Four of its governors who are said to be secretly working for the success of the leading opposition, the APC, in the coming Presidential Elections.

The Presidency became convinced that the Four Governors were not sincerely working for President Goodluck Jonathan and the PDP after reviewing their activities in relations to the presidential campaigns in their respective states.

A secret investigation carried out by security agents and placed at the disposal of the Presidency has clearly indicated that PDP would lose election in the affected states because of the activities of the governors...

A competent source told Vanguard in Abuja that both Jonathan and his party were upset that the governors were hiding under the party to work for the APC, thereby making it difficult for them to be promptly dealt with in line with the constitution of the party.

The source said that although the action of the Four Governors drawn from the North West and North East of the country had been discussed extensively by the Presidency and the PDP, the party and the president were in a fix on what to do with ‘traitors’ because of the impending elections.

The President is said to be particularly irked by the action of one of the PDP governors from the North East, who did not only give the sum of N25million in support of the opposition candidate campaign but also directed his officials to give maximum logistics support to the Buhari Campaign team during their campaign in the state on February 3 this year.

The same governor, it was learnt, showed what a presidency source described as a ‘lukewarm disposition’ to the Jonathan’s Campaign team by not mobilising enough support for the presidential rally in his state and arriving late to the venue of the campaign.

The governor is said to have unwittingly exposed disloyalty to the President and his party by coming to the venue of the rally six minutes before the arrival of the presidential team, thereby leaving several things undone and ending up embarrassing Jonathan and PDP when they went to campaign in the state.

The governor is reported to have delayed the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Team in the state until the eve of the presidential visit thereby making the team headed by a former Senator from the state, to hit the rocks in his effort to ensure a successful rally in the agricultural state. As a result of the sympathy of a North East governor for the APC, he is said to have displayed a lackadaisical attitude towards the visit of Jonathan to his state last month.

During the visit, the president was said to have been miffed by the near empty stadium that he noticed upon his arrival for the campaign in the state that is close to a desert.

The Presidency, Saturday Vanguard also learnt, was also hurt that none of the governors had shown remorse over their ‘betrayal’ by not speaking out against some of the wrongs openly committed by their agents against the presidential campaign teams in their respective states.

It was gathered that the Presidency was seriously disappointed that none of the affected governors had openly condemned the stoning of its presidential campaign train in their states while some of them turned round to blame some senior officers of the Presidency for the attacks.

The APC, which is aware of the tacit support of the governors, almost went to make a formal announcement that they were set to defect but they were said to have persuaded the party not to do so, promising instead to quietly work and deliver their states to the opposition because of Buhari’s factor.

Asked what the Presidency would be doing to sanction the Four Governors, the source hinted that the there was confusion in Aso Rock on what to do to them given the need for Jonathan to put his house in order and pursue the elections as a united party.

The source said that it would be counter-productive for the Presidency and the PDP to take any disciplinary action against the governors at this stage since the elections were already around the corner.

In fact, the PDP is now looking for ways to pressurize Prof Attahiru Jega of INEC to jettison the use of the Card Readers and Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, which could checkmate rigging.

Presidency accuses OBJ of plotting political crisis in order to head interim government.

Following his recent public remarks about the GEJ-led government, the Presidency has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of plotting a political crisis in Nigeria with the intention of forming an interim government which he hopes to head. In a statement released this night by Presidential media aide, Reuben Abati, the presidency accused the former president of sowing seeds of discords among Nigerians so that he could come back into power through the back door. Find the statement below:

We find the false claims and allegations reportedly made against President Goodluck Jonathan by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday in Abeokuta very odious and repugnant.

As we have had cause to say before, it is most regrettable indeed that a man like Chief Obasanjo, who should know better, chooses to repeatedly, wantonly, and maliciously impugn the integrity of a sitting President of his country for the primary purpose of self-promotion.

It is obvious from Chief Obasanjo’s serial vituperations against President Jonathan who is doing his best to positively transform Nigeria for the benefit of all of its people that he has willfully chosen to close his eyes to the present administration’s good works and intentions. For reasons best known to him, Chief Obasanjo has set his mind on regime change by fair or foul means.

Otherwise, it would be completely senseless, irrational and out of place for Chief Obasanjo, who still claims to belong to the same party as the President, to accuse President Jonathan of plotting to win the rescheduled presidential elections by “hook or crook” and planning to plunge the nation into crisis if he loses the election.

For the record, President Jonathan has no such intention and will continue to give the greatest possible support to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant federal agencies to ensure that the rescheduled elections are successfully conducted.

Indeed, it is not President Jonathan who remains faithful to his oath of office who is trying to plunge Nigeria into crisis, but Chief Obasanjo who is scheming to plunge the country into chaos in pursuit of a selfish and highly egocentric agenda.

Chief Obasanjo’s plot with others within and outside the country to thwart the general elections and foist an unconstitutional Interim National Government, which he hopes to head on the nation is well known to us, but by the Grace of God Almighty, his odious plan to return to power through the back door will fail woefully.

We know very well that it is in pursuit of this nefarious plot that the former President continues to sow the seeds of discord and crises in the polity by purporting to remain in the ruling party while openly consorting with the opposition, endorsing its candidates and predicting victory for opposition candidates in a manner most unbecoming of a supposed elder statesman. Thankfully, the vast majority of Nigerians who are patriotic and right-thinking cannot be fooled by Chief Obasanjo’s antics.

We urge them to be assured that President Jonathan's commitment to democracy in all its ramifications remains constant and that he will never be party to the use of any unlawful means to remain in office or gain political advantage over his opponents.

The President stands by his commitment, which he reaffirmed on national television last Wednesday that on his watch, all elections in Nigeria, will be free, fair and credible, and that all certified election results will be respected. As President Jonathan has also assured the nation, the rescheduling of the general elections was in the best interest of the nation and was never driven by any ulterior motive on the part of government as Chief Obasanjo and others have alleged.

President Jonathan will continue to put his best efforts into giving Nigeria quality leadership and will not be distracted from his purpose by unwarranted and needless criticism by persons who ought to know better.

The President also continues to trust in the good judgment of Nigerians and to believe that in appreciation of his sincere efforts to move the country forward over the past four years, they will re-elect him for a second term on March 28, 2015 with a mandate to pursue his agenda for national transformation to a successful conclusion.

OBJ (BABA HMSELF) !!!

A former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has alleged that the postponement of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was part of the grand plans by President Goodluck Jonathan to win the election by all means.

The former President made the statement on Saturday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, while speaking on the state of the nation and giving his opinion on the election postponement.

He, however, appealed to politicians in Nigeria to ensure that peace and tranquillity reigned supreme.

The former President also asked President Jonathan not to consider the removal of the chairman of the INEC, Professor Attairu Jega, as the decision may truncate the nation’s  fledging democracy.

  • I love dis guy...he says the truth, and does not GIVE A 4UK !!!
  • Nigeria needs more people like dis...since the Gani Fawehimis, and Tai Solarins are all gone.

A COUNTRY OF JOKERS !!!

2015 Presidential Election Ballot Papers Found In London.

  From Sahara Reporters

Ballots meant for the Nigerian presidential election were found yesterday at the premises of a local printer in the Essex area of London.
Our sources said the sensitive election materials, which ought to have arrived in Nigeria earlier in the week, were unsecured at the premises of Panther Printing Services in London. SaharaReporters was able to confirm that a Nigerian firm named Cemoz International Limited had been contracted to print some ballot papers for the 2015 presidential elections.

A spokesman for the Independent National Electoral Commission, Kayode Idowu, confirmed to SaharaReporters that Cemoz International Limited was one of the firms awarded the contract to print ballot papers.
It appears that, upon getting the contract, Cemoz went shopping for printers in London to print the ballot papers and then contracted these other printers to serially number the ballot papers. Although the ballot papers for the presidential elections for several southwest states were seen lying around the premises of the printing company in Essex, a staff at the company, speaking to a correspondent of SaharaReporters, said the firm only had the contract to print some of the ballot papers for Jigawa State. Thinking that our correspondent worked for Cemoz, the representative of the Essex-based company asked if we could give them more jobs, adding that their company had mastered how to print ballot papers.
SaharaReporters later obtained a bill of lading showing that Cemoz planned to ship the ballot papers to Nigeria a few hours before February 14th, the day initially set aside for the presidential election. INEC subsequently postponed the election for six weeks.

THE GOAT & THE YAM !!!

Jonathan: A President and The Parable Of The Goat and Yam.

  Written by Abimbola Ojenike
President Jonathan was on air again on the Presidential Media Chat, the occasional show that Nigerians have begun to enjoy only for the hilarity of the President’s incoherent jabber on grave national problems to which he does not appear to have answers. His appearance was expected to be better for many reasons. Coming after a rigorous electioneering campaign which has played up the sob story of this government, many had expected more articulate, whole-hearted and politically correct responses from the President on front burner issues such as corruption and insecurity.

Sadly, it was a shoddier show diminishing whatever is left of public confidence in the ability or political will of this government to deal decisively with the problems undermining the destiny of our nation.

The demeanor of Jonathan as well as his simple-minded response to issues was as hilarious as worrying. Interesting stuff! Discourse at the level of the Presidency descended to an all-time low...

If you listened to Mr. President, you now know that the President only eats chickens and does not like turkey. You should also know that your gift of turkey to Mr. President would be given out like he gave “two turkey” (sic) out to someone once upon a time. You should also know that to him, the much-awaited election to choose a leader for Nigeria is like a football tournament; and INEC like FIFA can postpone the match for whatever reasons.

On the criticism that his government is not committed to curbing corruption, the President went on a homily of the “goat and yam”. Don’t start wondering where Jesus Christ narrated this parable in the Bible. You will only find it in the transcript of the President’s chat. It is the President’s own construct to justify his belief that it is normal for people to steal and cheat unless you take away the opportunity away from them. Not being corrupt is for lack of opportunity; not a result of any enduring personal commitment to the values of basic honesty or a moral resolve to act right for social good.

According to the President, you cannot put a goat, yam and plantain together and say that the goat should not eat yam. In parallel, you cannot put the President and his cronies in power in charge of our state resources and say that they should not steal or act dishonestly. Corruption by public office holders is inevitable as you would naturally expect your goat to eat yam if kept with the yam. As such, the Jonathan administration, rather than ensuring that there is consequence for corruption, is working with “digital people” on how to use technology to prevent people from having the opportunity to be corrupt.

Prior to the media chat, the President had made a song and dance of fighting corruption with technology in his campaign. He does not believe that people can be incorruptible and believes that technology in itself is an end in curbing corruption. The critical questions are: who will manage Jonathan’s anti-corruption technology? Will the technology configure itself and run without any human intervention or will it be developed and operated by the same “goats” that should not be left with the yam? For a President that has never made any articulate statement on what corruption is, what will his anti-corruption technology classify as corrupt practice? Could the much-vaunted technology have regarded the theft of $20billion oil revenue or Alison-Maduekwe’s N10billion private jet fleece as corruption when the President himself and his men have never admitted that all these were corrupt dealings?

It should be a concern to everyone that Mr. President, rather than showing an impressive scorecard on fighting corruption in the last five years, has only resorted to a self-incriminating rhetoric that suggests that there should be no punishment for corruption at certain thresholds that are below the level of corruption under his administration. The President also bungled a golden chance to correct his “stealing is not corruption” mantra and left everyone more confused. I had always thought that what the President intended to say the first time he dropped that quibble was that grey is not black but is a shade of black. At the end of the Presidential chat, I started thinking that what the President was saying is that corruption has no linguistic expression in Nigeria and what we mostly elevate to such degree of heinous criminality is “mere stealing”.

The significance of Mr. President’s distinction would be lost on you until you remember his various campaign speeches where he publicly denounced the Buhari military regime for the trial and conviction of second republic Governor, Jim Nwobodo, for the embezzlement of $5.2million dollars. He had asked rhetorically, “how much did Nwobodo stole?” (sic). With this, we understand the President better. We can also guess why EFCC and ICPC have remained lame ducks under this government and why all the people of questionable fortune that should come under the scrutiny of anti-corruption agencies are by happenstance associates of Mr. President.

In what is ostensibly an admission of failure, the President is assuring Nigerians in his campaign that corruption would be no more by 2019 if he is given another chance. At the media chat, the President cited no record of successful conviction and he really has none. He also did not say one single thing that would be done differently to punish corruption if he is retained in office till 2019. Can we even wait till 2019 to see an end to corruption in the face of our dwindling economic fortune? How can this government be trusted to eliminate in 4 years the endemic culture of corruption it further entrenched, condoned and celebrated in 5 years?

The goat and yam parable is a self-indictment of the Jonathan-led government. It raises a serious question of how this government perceives its own morality and ability to work for common good in spite of the lure of materialism. Corruption has become so pervasive, and still rising with such a phenomenal pace so much so that even Ibrahim Babangida felt morally justified to say that he feels like a saint seeing the level of corruption under Jonathan’s government.

In this latest parable of the goat and yam, we the people and the abundant wealth of our nation are the “yam”. We unleash the “goats” on our “yam” when we choose leaders that do not believe that people can be incorruptible and have no willingness to punish those of their own who help themselves to state resources. To break the spell of this grinding poverty that is making the poorest of the poor poorer in Nigeria, we must repel the misfortune of corrupt leadership at the next election. Integrity should define the relationship amongst us, the way the government views its responsibility to the people and how the business of governance is conducted.

Another four years of a debauched leadership will further estrange us from this glorious position.
