Ex-Minister Abba Moro Remanded In Kuje Prison.

*Immigration Recruitment Scam Victims Want Justice
A federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the former Interior Minister, Abba Moro and two others remanded in Kuje prison custody till March 2nd when their formal bail application will be argued.

The three accused persons were docked on an 11-count charge before Justice A.I Chikere by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the tragic Nigerian Immigration recruitment scam in 2014 where over 20 applicants lost their lives.

Moro was arrested alongside Mrs. Anaesthesia Nwaobia, a Permanent Secretary in the ministry and a Deputy Director Finance, F.O Alayegbami, who allegedly facilitated the scam.

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the 11 counts charge when it was read to them in court.

Some of the charges against Abba Moro and his co-accused include obtaining by false pretence, corrupt practices and money laundering. EFCC has lined up witnesses to testify against them.

THE IG OF POLICE SHOULD THROW IN THE TOWEL !!!

I can’t free Ese without Emir’s help – Arase.

Olaleye Aluko (Culled from Punch)
The Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, has said the Emir of Kano’s  Hajj trip is responsible for the delay in securing the release of 14-year-old Ese Oruru, who is being held captive in Kano State.
Arase said this on Sunday after the launch of a “Free Ese” Campaign by PUNCH, which drew the attention of thousands of Nigerians to the plight of the Orurus,  causing outrage over the shocking story.
“I have just spoken with the Sunday PUNCH’s Editor. I explained to her about the delay. The police command in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, actually followed up the matter right from Kano State, ” Arase toldThe PUNCH.
“The Emir decided that he was going to mediate. But, because of his trip to Mecca with the President; that was what caused the delay. But now that he is back, we are going to sort it out as quickly as possible.”
Sanusi, Eze, Arase
Ese had been abducted in August 2015 by one Yinusa, who was a longstanding customer of her mother, Mrs. Rose Oruru, a food vendor in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.
Yinusa subsequently took Ese,  who was 13 years old at the time, to Kano where she was allegedly converted to Islam and forcefully married.
Since August 12 when her parents made the shocking discovery, trips to Kano, the involvement of the police and efforts to get the Emir of Kano, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, at whose palace the girl is believed to be held to resolve the matter and ensure the return of the 14-year-old to her parents have been resisted by those responsible for the abduction.
While her mother was told that Ese had converted to Islam and, therefore, was no longer her daughter, her father was told that his daughter was an 18-year-old adult and not 14, hence she was capable of making decisions for herself.
The fact that the teenager’s parents had reported at the Ekeki Police Station, Yenagoa, and to the Kwani Police Station, Kano, and sought the IGP’s intervention since last year without success angered many Nigerians.
The parents  had said all efforts to secure the release of their daughter from the palace had proved abortive.
Arase,  however,  explained that the police authorities did not abandon the matter as was being insinuated, adding that the release of the girl would be “sorted out as quickly as possible.”
When asked how soon Nigerians could expect the release of Ese, the IG noted that it was dependent on the intervention of the emir.
He said, “Well, that is dependent on the intervention of the emir. We have agreed to resolve the matter. I cannot give a timeline.”
When our correspondent asked again, “Sir, you mean the release is dependent on the emir, and not the police?”
Arase said, “I have not said anything like that. Have I? I have told you I have discussed these things with the editor. You can ask her. You are starting a different line of interview?
“But what I am telling you is that we did not abandon the matter as being insinuated. We have been following it up. The issue will be resolved.”
  • HOW SHAMEFUL.
  • A BOY SCOUT OUTFIT IS BETTER THAN THIS STUPID NIGERIAN POLICE.
  • IN A BETA COUNTRY, THE IG SHLD IMMEDIATELY BE ASKED TO RESIGN FOR DIS STUPID WAY HE HANDLED THE MATTER.
  • IT CAN ONLY HAPPEN IN NIGERIA...WHERE MOST MALLAMS ARE PEDOPHILES, BASED ON RELIGIOUS BELIEFS....WE CANT FORGET D CASE OF THE EX-ZAMFARA GOVERNOR WHERE NOTHING HAPPENED!!!

ARMED ROBBERS HIT TWO HOSPITALS !!!

Brazen Armed Robbers Attack Hospitals, Beat Patients, Nurses....And our police are slumbering!!!

Armed robbers have attacked two private hospitals in Okitipupa, in the Okitipupa area of Ondo State in two separate attacks. The attacks were carried out last week Sunday and Monday by the same gang.

A source said on Sunday that the robbers, who stormed the hospitals between 10pm and 11.30pm in the two days, collected undisclosed amount of money from the nurses and others at the hospitals.

According to the source, the hoodlums also collected some money from the patients on admission, while patients and nurses who had no money to give them were beaten up.

A victim, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Punch that, “The hoodlums were four in number; masked, and they came to the hospitals on motorcycles. They threatened to shoot anybody who did not cooperate with them, so all of us lied down and allowed them to carry out their operation without any hindrance.

“They asked everybody, including the patients, to bring out money and those who did not have money to give them were seriously beaten. It was very unfortunate. We tried our best to call the police, but we did not succeed because they also collected our phones and other valuables.” He added that nobody was killed or rap*d during the operation.

It was gathered that immediately after the attack on the first hospital, the victims reported the case at the police station in the town where the policemen promised to take action. But less than 24 hours, another attack was launched on another hospital in the town by the same gang.

An officer in the Special Anti-Robbery Squad said police were on the lookout for the hoodlums.

  • OUR POLICE ARE FAILING US....IT IS OBVIOUS DAT IF THE SAME SET OF ROBBERS CAN HIT TWO HOSPITALS IN D SAME STATE ...ONE DAY AFTER D OTHER...THEN OUR POLICE ARE LITERALLY SLEEPING.
  • MAYBE WE SHOULD DONATE MONEY AND PROVIDE OUR POLICE WITH PILLOWS AND MATTRESSES TO SLUMBER AT POLICE STATIONS ALL DAY AND NIGHT....abi?
  • WHAT IS D 4UKIN POINT???

ACCORDING TO BOLA TINUBU !!!

Nigeria In A Difficult But Encouraging Situation – Tinubu.

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, says the country is in a difficult but encouraging situation, that could usher in better prospects for all Nigerians.

Tinubu said although the journey to economic recovery would not be easy, there is hope for the country.

This was contained in a speech he delivered on Saturday after receiving a honourary Doctor of Business degree at the 15th- 20th convocation ceremony of the University of Abuja.

He said, “Nigeria stands in the corridor between greatness and failure; between progress and collapse; between hope and despair. Our fate depends on whether we would summon the courage to take the bold steps and move in the direction. We must turn our present challenges into opportunities for the reengineering of our nation’s economic challenges.”

The APC leader, however, noted that Nigeria needed some fundamental restructuring, both politically and as a matter of urgency economically, in order to actualise the desired change.

Tinubu advocated a return to agriculture, noting that a vibrant agriculture sector would produce enough food for domestic consumption and for export, while creating more jobs.

He also reiterated his confidence in the Federal Government’s commitment “to a new era of discipline and prosperity... If you ask me to describe the state of the nation, I would say it is a difficult but encouraging one. We are emerging from a period of great moral uncertainty, where vice and virtue were too often indistinguishable and too often confused, one for the other.

“The journey we have embarked upon will not be easy. It requires all of us to make sacrifices and persevere until we achieve. Nigeria needs some fundamental restructuring, both politically and economically; not the constant tinkering and patch-patch we often resort to."

ROBBERS FROM NIGER REPUBLIC HIT NIGERIA !!!

Five Niger Republic nationals arrested for armed robbery have told police detectives that they came to Nigeria to make money. The suspects, Mustapha Musa (21), Abdulahi Ali (21), Saidi Isa (21), Ali Alisuma (22), Yakubu Adamu (22) and Isiaka Yakubu (23), were arrested by police patrol team at Tinubu on Lagos Island.

It was gathered that the suspects were all working as porters at Balogun Market before they met one Isa Musa from Borno State who introduced them to robbery.

But Musa said he met the men at Obalende when they asked him to take them somewhere. He said: “I have spent about 15 years in Lagos. I was once a motorcycle rider.

But my motorcycle was impounded about five times by the police that was why I bought a Toyata Sunny car which I used for transportation.

“The boys have been into the robbery before I met them. I joined them about two months ago. I have also shared about N140,000 from the proceeds from the two the operations he went for. Our major target is warehouse.

Our last operation was at Mandilas Mall before we were arrested by the police.”
The gang leader, Alisuma, said he used to call Musa on the phone whenever his members wanted to go for any operation.

He said: “Whenever we went on operation, my own work was to use sledge hammer and other tools to break doors, while my colleagues who were armed with machetes would go in and steel money and some other valuables.

We have robbed at Mandilas Mall and one other warehouse at Tinubu area of the Island. I also used to instruct my members on what to do because they do not understand the Island routes very well.

“I came to Nigeria to work but because my expectation was not met by working as a porter at Idumota, my colleagues and I decided to go into robbery so as to be able to send money back home.

Our parents believe there is money in Nigeria that was why they are expecting much from anyone of us who come to Nigeria.”

FANI-KAYODE VERSUS MODU SHERIFF !!!

FFK reacts to Ali Modu Sheriff's threat to sue.

Below is a statement from FFK's spokesman, Jude Ndukwe
''We read the newspaper advert in Thisday newspaper in which Ali Modu Sheriff has threatened to sue Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. Though we have not received a formal letter from his lawyers to that effect we wish to inform him and members of the public that we stand by everything that we have said about Sheriff, we have briefed our lawyers, we welcome the suit and we shall gladly meet him in court.
The days of silencing people with arrogant threats and frivolous litigation are long over. We cannot be silenced by Modu Sheriff's threat to sue and we are not losing any sleep over it. Such a course of action will prove not only to be counter-productive for him but by the time it is all over he will get the shocker of his life''- Mr. Jude Ndukwe, spokesman to Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.
