This swarm of giant insects (deadly hornets) killed about 50 people in Northern China, while injuring more than 1,500 people. They left deep, dark craters on their victims skins, the size of bullet holes. The species is four times the size of ordinary honey bees. They grow as much as 5cm long, with 6mm stings. Their TOXIC stings can lead to anaphylactic shock, and renal failure. The deadly insects are said to have desperately chased some victims for as far as 200 metres before biting them.
