A house maid, Ita Bassey-Eno, was set ablaze by her madam for stealing a piece of meat from soup. Police at Bode Thomas Police Station are investigating the matter. The said victim is receiving emergency treatment at the Burns and Trauma Unit of the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos. Incidentally the madam, who happens to be a Staff Nurse at another hospital denied it. The victim claims she dowsed her with petrol and struck a match. Ita was seen by neighbours running out of their house, covered in flames, and hoping to dive into a nearest gutter to put out the flames. She suffered 95% burn.
