Shame of a Nation
The pictures below were scenes during the AFCON qualifier match between Nigeria and Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna today. The stadium is said to have a capacity of 25,000, but the commentators gleefully reported an attendance of 40,000! It's easy to see the potential for mass fatalities arising from the situations in the pictures below. It's quite amazing that there was nobody responsible for correcting the dangerous scenarios during the entire 90 minutes of the match, and these pictures were beamed to the whole wide world. Worse still, no recriminations would likely follow to whoever was supposed to be responsible for stadium security. A great big shame indeed.
