BOKO HARAM'S KABIRU SOKOTO SAYS HE WAS TORTURED BY SECURITY AGENTS.

The arrested kingpin of Boko Haram, Kabiru Sokoto, told the Abuja Federal High Court that he was tortured by Agents while attempting to extract information from him during interrogation. Sokoto was accused of masterminding the Christmas Day bombing of the St. Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State. Prosecution said he voluntarily made statements admitting his involvement, and membership of the dreaded Boko Haram sect. Sokoto claims to be merely an Islamist Scholar, and Teacher. It would be recalled that Sokoto managed to escape from the Police after his arrest, and was later re-arrested. This led to the sack of Zakari Biu, the then Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory.
