PRESIDENT JONATHAN'S NATIONAL AWARD SPEECH!!!

His Excellency, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR On the Occasion of the Conferment of the 2014 National Honours State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja Monday, 29th September, 2014
PROTOCOLS
1.  It gives me great pleasure to once again perform the function of honouring our deserving citizens with National Honours for 2013 and 2014. The conferment of these honours is a yearly undertaking in conformity with our laws. The National Honours ceremony is an annual ritual of renewal in which our society constantly connects with its higher values.
2.  A nation is void and soulless if she does not have those sacred values it holds dear and individuals who project them. It is in such men and women that you find the authentic inheritance of the generations and their nurturing. That is why a nation is poor that is not rich in people who carry noble values that are transferred from generation to generation.
Mr. Onu, Usuah and Corporal Dauda
From Left: Honours award winners, Mr Onuh Micheal (MON) , Head, Presidential Stewards; Who Has served under nine different Heads of States/Presidents; a Taxi Driver, Mr Imeh Usuah, who returned the sum of N18m (Eighteen Million Naira) forgotten in his car by a customer and Mr Solomon Dauda (MON), a Traffic Warden, for his acrobatic agility in controlling traffic at the Investiture In Abuja On Monday (29/9/14).
3.  No great nation will toy with honours that constitute her trans-generational character code. This was why I insisted last year that our National Honour must never be seen as a piece of paper or garland round the neck which individuals not worthy of honour can pick up and continue to project wrong values that diminish our heritage.
4.   I also directed the National Honours Committee to always cast their net wide to ensure that all strata of our society where honourable Nigerians are excelling should be brought into the honours’ fold.
5.  I want to use this opportunity to urge all Nigerians to actively participate in the nomination process so that the worthy get their recognition. For only the nominated can stand the chance of being honoured by our great country.
6.  Very distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen, I am happy to note that going through this year’s list of honourees, there is a broader and more salutary spectrum. This demonstrates clearly that our nation is rich in men; rich in women; rich in youth; rich in the professions!
7.   Indeed, we have many individuals who stand out in service accomplishment and dedication in their fields of endeavour.
8.  I believe, one of the reasons why our society is not at ease is because we have neglected our ennobling traditional value system. There was a time in our country that when you were honoured with traditional or religious titles in any community, you were deemed to personify the highest ethos of that community.
9.  It was a period when a teacher was the hallmark of the most honourable values in a settlement. The Bank Manager in any community was a man of high probity in whose care people trusted the
10.  It was a period when people kept quiet and walked gently when they approached a place of worship for the fear of God in their heart, not now that people throw explosives in places of worship.
11.  We must get back those time-honoured values that shaped us for good so that we can live right. This is what the National Honour in its truest essence seeks to do. To identify and celebrate men and women whose lives depict the very essence of societal existence. Therefore, at all times, our honourees must be sincere men and women who point society in the right direction and mirror the possibilities of greatness unlimited.
12. I congratulate all the awardees and enjoin you all to realize that the honour your country bestows on you today is an additional responsibility to continue to demonstrate the strength of character that has brought you to the hall of fame. Your lifestyle must be exemplary and reflect that of a truly honourable man or woman who at all times projects the noblest of virtues.
13 . To all our country men and women, my challenge to you is to strive to do the best in whatever endeavour you are in, that would recommend you for the recognition of your nation. It really does not matter what you do.
14.            Take Mr. Ime Usuah, the Taxi Driver whose daily income was not more than ten thousand naira. A passenger forgot eighteen million naira in his taxi, and went away.
15. The man did not have Mr. Usuah’s name or his phone number. The honest Nigerian spirit in Mr. Usuah led him to go hunting for the owner of the eighteen million naira and he delivered it to him, intact. This is how it should be.
16. For many of you in Abuja or who visit our Nation’s capital, you must have seen a hard working traffic warden who does his job with great dexterity, glee and happiness. As a traffic officer, he delights in entertaining commuters by graceful gyrations and gesticulations as he efficiently directs traffic.CPL Solomon Dauda carries on his job with evident pride and dignity!
17.  Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, we all enjoy Nollywood, but one man experimented with the idea of telling stories in ways that have revolutionized the movie industry in Nigeria. His name is Kenneth Nnebue. Through him, many stars including those whom we have honoured, stand tall on the global stage of acting today.
18.  Democracy Campaigner, Joe Okei – Odumakin, Environmental Activist Nnimmo Bassey, and Mr. Michael Isaac Onuh, a very dedicated steward who has served every Head of State loyally since President Shehu Shagari (it is quite a feat for a steward to have survived nine Heads of State and nine First Ladies) – are all here to receive honour for their hard-work in service of our Nation and humanity.
19.  Looking at the list of honourees today, you will see among them some who are Nigerians not by birth but by naturalization; and some others who are non-Nigerians: they have distinguished themselves in the realm of private enterprise and are demonstrating their faith in Nigeria by contributing meaningfully to the growth of our economy and creating jobs for our youth. We appreciate them all.
20.   It is with great pleasure that I, on behalf of the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, induct this year’s outstanding honourees: men and women of great character from Civil Society, the Military, the Judiciary, Civil Service, Enterprise, Academia, sports, entertainment, the traditional institution and all other walks of life.
21. While congratulating them all, it is my hope that their richly deserved recognition will inspire other Nigerians and non-Nigerians in our country to recommit themselves to dedicated service to our Fatherland and our common humanity.
22.   Let me now at this point specially appreciate three of the awardees: the taxi driver, Mr. Ime Usuah, the traffic warden, Cpl Solomon Dauda, and the steward, Mr. Michael Isaac Onuh, and ask that they should step forward and come to the stage. I read a story in The Vanguard on Sunday yesterday in which Michael Isaac Onuh was described as a pauper in the State House.
You can see that those who take to criminality do not necessarily do so because of poverty; it is possible for people to be poor and live a life of honour and dignity, because some of you here and myself know where we are coming from. We have passed through stress, but we did not take to criminality. It is also why we appreciate these three gentlemen: Onuh, the taxi driver, Usuah, and Corporal Dauda. In addition to the national honours already bestowed on you, I hereby direct the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory to give you a gift of a flat each.
23.  And by the same token, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation should ensure that another awardee who has contributed so much to the history of this country, the person who designed the Nigerian flag, Pa Michael Akinkunmi is placed on the salary of a Special Assistant to the President.
24.  I thank you all.

BABALAKIN: PAY YOUR 'GBESE'!!!

Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, vacated the orders made by his brother judge, Justice Okon Abang, appointing Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria, AMCON, through its counsel, Dr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, receiver/manager over the assets of Bi-Courtney Limited, operators of Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Terminal 2, Ikeja, Lagos.
The order sparked off a bitter exchange between Dr. Olisa Agbakoba and Dr. Olawale Babalakin outside the court.
The other orders vacated by the court include those also appointing Dr. Agbakoba as receiver/manager over assets of Chartered Investment Limited, Resort International Limited, Roygate Properties Limited;
*Babalakin
*Babalakin
The order restraining some commercial banks in the country from allowing these companies to operate bank accounts held with the banks in whatever form or description pending determination of the substantive action;
The order that the banks shall file and serve on Agbakoba and Associates, within seven days, an affidavit disclosing the balance on all accounts held with the commercial banks jointly and severally as at date.
Meanwhile, Dr Agbakoba, former Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, President and Chairman of Bi-Courtney Group, Mr Babalakin, yesterday, exchanged hot words at the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos, at the continued hearing of the debt recovery suit between and Babalakin.
Agbakoba and Babalakin, almost exchanged blows but for the prompt intervention of other lawyers, including Chief Wale Akoni, SAN and Mr Abiodun Layonu, SAN.
Troubled started after Justice Buba upturned the orders of September 22, made by Justice Abang empowering AMCON to take over assets of Babalakin’s companies, including MM 2.
In the order, Agbakoba was also appointed as the receiver/manager over all the companies of Babalakin including Bi-Courtney Limited, Chartered Investment Limited, Resort International Limited and Roygate Properties Limited.
But the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta had re-assigned the case to Justice Buba, who was handling previous case between the parties.
When the case came up, lawyers to Babalakin and his companies had urged the court to suspend the interim orders made by Justice Abang empowering Agbakoba to act as the receiver/manager for the companies.
Akoni argued that the integrity of the court had been badly affected with the conflicting order, adding that there was need for the court to act fast to stop the development.
Layonu, on his part, said the Federal High Court, as an institution, had been scandalised with the orders of Abang, because Justice Buba had made specific order restraining AMCON from appointing a receiver/manager and or taking over the companies.
“For AMCON to now secretly obtain another order at variance with a subsisting order from a different court is an attempt to scandalise this court and cause confusion. Already, banks and the police are already implementing Abang’s orders, and that is the more reason why this court should act fast,” Layonu argued.
Responding, Agbakoba said as far as he was concerned, there was no confusion with Abang’s orders.
He said the suit before Abang was filed pursuant to the new cause of action that arose out of the admission by Babalakin that he was indebted to AMCON to the tune of N50 billion.
He recalled that before now, the bundle of cases were basically on determining the actual debt owed by Babalakin and debt swap arising from the argument by the defendants that Federal Government was indebted to Babalakin to the tune of over N132 billion pursuant to a judgment.
He added that after series of meetings, Babalakin agreed that he was indebted to AMCON, and that all cases would be withdrawn.
The lawyer lamented that trouble however started when Babalakin failed to abide by the term of the agreements, especially as regard transfe-rring the Federal Secretariat in Ikoyi to AMCON as agreed.
Agbakoba explained that Babalakin and his lawyers failed to understand when cause of action arose in a case and ends.
In his ruling, Justice Buba held that the action of AMCON was clearly an abuse and a nullity, as the suit before Abang was filed and orders obtained in the face of previous cases and specific orders.
The judge decried the action of AMCON, noting that it felt that a court can only bark but not bite.
The judge added that it was clear from the processes before the court that Justice Abang was misled by AMCON to grant the interim orders having failed to notify the court of the existing orders.
The judge then vacated the order of Justice Abang, and held that it was clearly an abuse of court process.
The matter was subsequently adjourned to December 9 for mention.
Babalakin, who was seated in his black Toyota Jeep within the court premises throughout the proceeding, had come out at the same time when Agbakoba was coming out of the court.
Agbakoba then looked at Babalakin and said: “Wale, give me my money. I will collect my money from you, and that’s final.”
Responding, Babalakin replied by threatening to come after Agbakoba.
Pointing at Agbakoba, Babalakin said: “Why do you want to ruin me? You want to kill my businesses, I will never allow you.”
Agbakoba also angrily replied him, saying “you this small lawyer, when did you start practicing self? I’m 40 years at the bar, and so you are too small to me.”
As the two lawyers were exchanging words, Akoni and Layonu intervened and brought the situation under control.

APC: KWANKWASO IS THE MAN.

(Culled from Vanguard) By Soni Daniel.
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso says he wants to become Nigeria’s President in 2015 to enable him use his requisite experience to address the fundamental socio-economic challenges facing Nigeria.
*Kwankwaso
*Kwankwaso
Kwankwaso, who spoke with journalists last night in Kano, pointed out that he had been studying the problems facing the country over the years and had come to the conclusion that he possesses the requisite experience and expertise to tackle the issues and give Nigerians and Nigeria a new lease of life.
He explained that given his rich background as a long-standing public servant, an engineer and a one-time Defence Minister, he truly understands what the country needs in order to become great among the comity of nations.
The governor said the country needed someone like him, who had seen the nation from various angles to be able to solve its problems and advance the interest of Nigerians at all levels.
The governor said that although he was still consulting with other stakeholders across the length and breadth of Nigeria on his next political move, he would make a formal declaration for the presidential contest at the appropriate time.
Kwankwaso said that more than anything else, the worsening security threat to Nigeria and the seeming inability of the administration to address it were unacceptable as it had driven away over four million Nigerians into Chad, Niger Republic and Cameroun as refugees.
“The situation is so bad that apart from those displaced by the insurgents, many other Nigerians have been hospitalised while others have gone into hiding just to save their lives, while the system continues to give assurance of victory,” the governor lamented.
“So many Nigerians have also been displaced in Chibok, Gwoza and Bama as well as other places in the country. This is not a good thing for Nigeria and we need to rise up and find a lasting solution to the problem, which is not beyond us.
“A situation whereby Nigeria’s leadership is encouraging division is not good for the unity of Nigeria. We should stop abusing the very people we are supposed to protect and give them a sense of hope and dignity,” Kwankwaso noted.
The governor said that in a bid to give his state a new lease of life, his administration had undertaken major infrastructural projects including three major flyover bridges, major roads and water projects across the state in addition to establishing 23 big dams for water and energy supply.
He pointed out that in a bid to rid Kano of malevolent elements and reduce criminality, his administration, working in league with security agents had constantly been raiding black spots in the metropolis, including the Sabongari Market, which he described as the biggest drug market in Kano.
According to Kwankwaso, illicit drugs worth N4 billion had been seized from the market and destroyed by security agents in the last three years in a bid to flush out the couriers from the state.
The governor said that the All Progressives Congress, where he crossed over to last December from the ruling PDP, was working hard to ensure that it wins the next election convincingly and use the opportunity to move the country forward.

WICKED NAIJA RULERS!!!

Chef

(Culled from Vanguard)
Many Nigerians would like to think that having a job in the Presidential Villa would be the opportunity to avail oneself of his/her share of the national cake. That, however,  is not the case with the presidential steward, Mr. Micheal Onuh, who lives in a rented apartment on the outskirts of Nasarawa State and survives on two hours sleep daily.
He has served different heads of state and presidents for 30 years as a steward. He started his work with Shehu Shagari, witnessed the coup d’tat of Major- General Muhammadu Buhari and General Ibrahim Babangida. He prepared the table of the interim government of Ernest Shonekan and witnessed the brutality reign of General Sani Abacha. He was also at the Villa when General Abdulsalami Abubakar handed over power to the Civilian reign of Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999.
The intrigues and drama of the Umaru Musa Yar Adua’s administration did not deter him from doing his work.
At present, he is the head of presidential stewards at Aso Villa. One would expect someone who is very close to power to have some of its trappings, but the 59-year-old lives in a rented apartment at Karu, Nasarawa State.
In spite of his rare dedication to duty, the father of four children admits that he faces a challenge in his job, and also has regret. “The regret I have is that for someone that has been working for his country for over 30 years, it is not good that I don’t have my own accommodation. I live at the outskirts of the city (in Karu, Nasarawa State) in a rented house,” he confessed.
“My greatest challenge is coming all the way to work from a very far distance every day. Waking up by 3am to be at work and closing in the early hours of the morning only to be back again very early to work is a big challenge for me.”
The Cable, quoting Villascope, an in-house magazine of the State House, said the native of Kogi State maintains a strict code of not asking for favours because it is against the ethics of his job.
“I cannot approach anybody for anything. We are trained not to beg anybody for anything. Do your job and leave everything to God,” he said.
Describing Onuh, Villascope wrote: “Quiet but unassuming, Micheal Onuh has seen it all. From the first executive president of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Shagari to Dr Goodluck Jonathan, he has been in the inner recesses of power attending to the domestic needs of the first family of the most populous and powerful black nation in the world.”
Meanwhile, in the 2014 budget, the Presidency had allocations of about N108.2 billion ($650 million).  About N200 million was allocated for the provision of foodstuffs/catering supplies while it plans to expend another N162,556,500 on meals and refreshments for the year.
For honorarium and sitting allowances, the Presidency allocated N320 million with the sum of N33.8 million set aside for the office of the Vice-President to take care of his foodstuff and catering supplies as well as meals and refreshments in the year.
Recall that N34.5m was budgeted for two animals for the Villa Zoo.
Onuh loves his job, which, he says, has given him much exposure. He has visited the United States, Libya, Venuzuela and Jerusalem, to name just a few. “I have always derived pleasure in serving others. It also brings one close to the people that matter,” he said.
“I am happy to take care of the people that serve the nation. It means a lot to me. I believe it is my contribution to my fatherland to be in charge of taking care of the little stuff of the presidents.” Onuh, the longest-serving staff member at the Presidential Villa, will be bestowed with the honour of Member of the Order of the Niger.
Onuh will join 306 other Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to be conferred  with National Honours Award on Monday, September 29, 2014, at the International Conference Centre,  Abuja.
The man who many call the pauper in the villa will stand on the same podium with the Chief of Staff, service chiefs, the acting Inspector-General of Police, eight governors, nine ministers, captains of industry, politicians and traditional rulers.

From left: President Goodluck Jonathan, APC Presidential aspirant and Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Chief Mike Onolemenmen, Minister of Works on arrival of the President at the Benin Airport for a party rally, Saturday

(Culled from Vanguard).
Benin – President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday in Benin said the country had reduced its poverty rate by 50 per cent.
Jonathan said this while speaking at the South South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) political rally in Benin, tagged ‘Unity Mega Rally.’
He said that the PDP, as a party, believed in stomach infrastructure because the party must ensure that there was food security and job creation in the country.
He noted that any leader who claimed not to believe in stomach infrastructure was not ready to lead, as “ you cannot lead hungry people.’’
He desrcibed the PDP as the only stable party since its formation that had never changed its name, logo or motto, adding that it is the only paty that gives its members the freedom to climb to the highest level.
He said that all the nation needed was unity, and gave the assurance that although all the roads could not be rehabilitated at once, his administration would continue to improve on all infrastracture in the country.
He also gave the reassurance that since the nation was able to conquer the Ebola Virus Disease, it would also conquer the Boko Haram insurgency.
The president however appealed to the party loyalists to be decent in their variuos electioneering competitions in order not to create enermies among themselves.
Earlier, Vice President Namadi Sambo said the presenet administration had completed seven power projects with a total of 2,000 mega watts for the South South under the Transformation Agenda.
Similarly, Senate President David Mark described Jonathan as ‘’ a good sell’’ hence his unianimous adoption by the party as its choice candidate for 2015.
The PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, described the president as a bridge builder and unifying factor.
He reassured that all defectors to the party would be reintegrated into the party without bias.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Aneneih, said the zone had every reason to be proud of its contribution to national development.
He also said that the zone had made sacrifice to keep the country together as well as contributed to the economic growth.
The president had earlier inaugurated the Benin-Ofusu Dual carriage, where Gov Adams Oshiomhole of Edo described the quallity of work as impressive.
Oshiomhole also congratulated the president on the massive road construction and rehabiliattion across states in the country.
NAN also reports that the rally was attended by who is who in the PDP both in the state and in the country, including serving and past governors, national assembly members, as well as aspirants.
  • WHAT A SHAME!!! YOU MUST BE 4UKIN JOKING.

NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT'S COCK & BULL!!!

LAGOS—Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, yesterday, said the alleged $9.3 million cash seized by the South African government has made the country a laughing stock worldwide.
Fashola also added that Abuja had not been consistent with information on the abducted Chibok girls and the attack on the Bama Community, saying; “Nigerians deserve to know the current state of the issues.”

Fashola made the remarks at the 2014 Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Colloquium held at the University of Lagos, Yaba, which also had in attendance, former governor of Lagos State, Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, Professor Itsey Sagay and others.
Reacting to the alleged arms deal and what the late Gani Fawehinmi would have done if he was alive, Fashola lamented that the issue has made Nigerians mere laughing stock worldwide.
‘’And this happened because of the value choices that we have made. Let us stop pointing fingers at those people, you all voted for them. They are representatives of the values we have chosen to live with.
“Would Gani Fawehinmi have stood by and watch without demanding an explanation on how  money was spent. How N2 trillion was spent on oil subsidy without appropriation. Also, how will he have reacted to the stories of the disappearance of the $20 billion or $49 billion depending on what  you believe?”, he added.
The governor also lamented that the central government had not been consistent on sensitive issues concerning its citizens especially the abducted Chibok girls saga.
Commenting on the Nigerian Army’s claim that the abducted Chibok girls had been released and few hours after, back-tracked on the information it released earlier, Fashola said: “At one moment, the information was that the girls were not abducted. Later, we were told by the Federal Government that they now know where the girls are kept.”
“Few months later, the same government informed its citizens that the girls have been recovered. And in few minutes, they (Federal Government through the Nigerian Army) back-tracked on its earlier information.
“Over the last few days, similar incident occurred in Bama and the report from that place was that insurgents had taken over power. The media organisations who reported it were castigated. The reason was that they reported that Bama have been ceded. And few days later, there was another report that Bama have been recaptured. So if you recapture it and you said that you didn’t lose it.
“It shows that there is a problem; the right to know. We (Nigerian) must be updated on the progress and challenges on the issue.”

FEDERAL MINISTRY OF 'ORITSHE-DOLLAR'!!!

Felix Idiga, The Second Man Behind The $9.3m Cash For Arms Scandal Exposed
In the South East part of Nigeria Felix Idiga is a well known man. This is on account of his emergence as one of new breed billionaires from that region. That he is also close to the Christian Association of Nigeria president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor might be stating the obvious. After all, the man of God sits on same board of about two companies with Idiga. One of such is Swat Nigeria and Eagle Air Nigeria.

Idiga, said to be the chief executive officer of JAFAC group, is into construction with the NDDC (Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC) as it’s major customer.

Those who know this fellow say he made chunk of his money through his association with the top shots of NDDC and major militants in the South-South. Sources say he was allegedly involved in oil bunkering along with emergency money bags like Scott Tommey and Delta based Ayeri.

Hence with the news broke that
his name was traced to the funds scuttled by the South African police, those who know him well were not too surprised based on his antecedents. Of recent he dumped the Imo governor to pitch tent with the ruling party PDP just like Ali Modu Sheriff to pursue his senatorial ambition in IMO.

According to the revelation, the private jet with a US registration number N808HG was one of two jets cited by South African officials on September 5 and is owned by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor. The second is a jet registered with the name Felix Idiga, the owner of Jafac Limited. Mr. Oritsejafor’s jet arrived South Africa with $9.3 million cash loaded in several suitcases meant for the purchase of arms and ammunitions.

Investigations have confirmed that under the South African laws, a person entering or leaving the country is expected to carry cash not exceeding R25, 000 (about US$2, 300), or the equivalent in foreign currency notes. Also, arms usually involve a complex bank transfer system needed to move the money between the countries involved in the deal; they are rarely done in cash.

This contravention of the South African law and other laws governing the movement of cash and the purchase of arms and ammunitions proves that the intended transaction was illegal and is possibly intended to smuggle arms to Nigerian to continue to equip terrorists in the North, pirates and militants in the Niger Delta and other forms of insurgence in Nigeria.

NIGERIAN POLITICS OF 'CHOP-I-CHOP'!!!

The Senate has approved the $1billion (N165bn) loan requested by President Jonathan in July to help in the fight against terrorism and tackle insecurity in the country. The loan would be used for the purchase of military equipment and the training of military personnel.

The loan approved will be in addition to the N968.127bn voted for Defence in the 2014 budget by the federal government.

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO ORITSE-NAIRA!!!

The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria has accused Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of smearing the image of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), saying it is wrong for his plane to be associated with the scandalous “arms deal” in South Africa.

Speaking on BBC Hausa Service monitored in Kaduna on Wednesday, Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama, who is the Archbishop of Jos and President, Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria, said they had been watching with sadness how Oristejafor had been hobnobbing with the Presidency for long. He accused the CAN President of dragging Christianity into the mud.
In the words of Bishop Kaigama: “It is not proper; the guilty must be punished. It is not acceptable for a Christian leader to be seen always with the President. We in the Catholic have always picked holes in Oritsejafor’s style of leadership in CAN and we even wanted to stop attending CAN meeting at the national level.”

He faulted the way Pastor Oritsejafor was running CAN and urged the authorities to investigate the matter dispassionately and ensure that those found guilty are punished according to the law of the land.

Archbishop Kaigama said the government should intensify efforts to restore the security situation in troubled parts of the country and expressed worry over the situation in the Northeast.

APC: BUHARI GIVES KWANKWASO HIS BLESSING.

(Breaking News).

THERE IS UNCONFIRMED NEWS REACHING NAIJABLAB THAT ONE OF THE APC PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS, GENERAL MOHAMADU BUHARI, HAS 'THROWN IN THE TOWEL' AND GIVEN HIS BLESSING TO RABIU MUSA KWANKWASO, ANOTHER ASPIRANT. THIS HAS BEEN WIDELY RECEIVED WITH KUDOS AMONG THE SUPPORTERS OF KWANKWASO, WHO CLAIM IT IS INDEED THE PROPER THING TO DO. WHEREAS ON THE OTHER HAND THE DIE-HARD 'BUHARI BRIGADE'/SUPPORTERS SEEM GREATLY RELIEVED, CLAIMING THAT THEIR ALLEGIANCE TO THE GENERAL HAD BEEN MERELY PREDICATED UPON PURE SENTIMENTS IN ANY CASE.

NAIJABLAB ALSO GATHERED THAT THE TOP ECHELON OF THE APC HAVE RECEIVED THIS NEWS WITH GLADNESS, BECAUSE THEY FEEL THAT ATIKU'S CANDIDACY WOULD STAND NO GROUNDS AGAINST THE FORMIDABLE KWANKWASO CAMP ON THE LONG RUN, THEREBY MAKING THEIR JOB A LOT EASIER.

ALL ATTEMPTS BY NAIJABLAB TO INTERVIEW THE GENERAL HIMSELF HAVE PROVED FUTILE. HOWEVER, A MESSAGE WAS LEFT ON HIS ANSWERING MACHINE, CONGRATULATING HIM FOR HIS MAGNANIMITY, AND GOOD 'SPORTSMANSHIP'.
