BOKO-HARAM BECOMES BOKO-WONDER!!!

Angry governor lashes military

After recently escaping death himself, the Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, a former Rear Admiral, lashed out in frustration at the whole Security arrangements of the Federal government. He WONDERS why soldiers often arrived late at the scenes of incidents concerning Boko-Haram.
Hear him:

He said: “In Buni-Yadi, Yobe State, the soldiers withdrew from checkpoint hours to the attack. Who ordered the withdrawal? In Shuwa and Michika, soldiers withdrew, shortly after that Boko Haram attacked, who ordered the withdrawals”?
“We also have the case of Gen. Mohammed Shuwa (who was killed) in Maiduguri by the so-called Boko Haram. There is an army unit there, but they didn’t respond during the attack. Who told them not to respond?
“The Air Force base was raided in Maiduguri. There was a military base nearby; who gave the base the order not to respond during the raid on the Air Force base?
“Either this thing is controlled by unknown fellows or unknown Boko Haram strategic commander is in the defence system or are things being stage-managed?”

  • Hehehe...what goes round comes around.
  • D wahala don reach una body now... when dem almost kill Governor, una come dey tok.
  • When poor people were dying and wasting away, you thought it was a JOKE...abi?
  • Well, d tin wey una start...una must to stop am unaselves.
  • If you Northern Governors cannot control Boko-Haram wey dey live among una, se na Southern Governor go come control dem.
  • Abi na Jonah wey dey for Abuja go tok to dem???
  • Dis na BITTER PILL wey una must swallow bcos of una recklessness.
  • Dis na d start of BOKO-WONDER WONDER!!!

GANI FAWEHINMI'S FAMILY REJECT CENTENARY AWARD!!!

The family of late Human Rights Lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), has promptly rejected the gestures of the Federal Government to grant him a Centenary Award.
According to the Fawehinmi family, they can’t accept the award because former president, General Ibrahim Babangida who tortured and dealt with their father while alive is part of the people on the list to be honoured. They also felt their father wouldn’t have been a part of it because of the recent $20 billion missing in NNPC and would have gone to court by now. The recent killing of 43 students in FGC, Yobe State was also part of the reasons listed.

Femi Kuti also rejected it on behalf of his Afro King Father, Fela, saying before they can accept such an award, the Federal Government needs to first apologize for killing their grandmother, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, and burning of Kalakuta Republic. Wole Soyinka is also said to have refused it.
Find below the response of the Fawehinmi Family:

 Dear Sir,
RE: CENTENARY AWARD TO OUR LATE FATHER, CHIEF GANI FAWEHINMI (SAN)
We acknowledge the receipt of your letter, dated February 24, 2014, which was routed through Mr Tony Akiotu, Group Managing Director, DAAR Communications, Abuja, wherein our late father, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN) was chosen as one of the awardees of the Centenary celebrations of Nigeria by President Goodluck Jonathan.
We want to thank the Federal Government for considering our late father for this HONOUR.
However, for reasons stated here under, our family has decided it would be inexpedient to accept the award:
1. In the list of the Awardees published by the Federal Government, was the name of former military dictator, General Ibrahim Babangida, who as military president, severally detained and tortured our late father. In the course of one of such illegal and inhuman detentions, our late father’s cell was sprayed with toxic substances while in Gashua prison in 1987. The cumulative effect of that dastardly action led to our father, a non- smoker, contracting lung cancer which eventually led to his death on September 5, 2009. We therefore, find it morally incongruous and psychologically debilitating for our family to stand on the same podium with General Babangida to receive awards.
2. Our late father was empathetic to the sufferings of our people, particularly students. In the last 72 hours, 43 innocent students were mowed down by the blood- thirsty Boko Haram terrorists in Yobe state, while 20 other girls were similarly abducted by these same band of terrorists. These girls are still in captivity while their fate is unknown. If our late father were to be alive, would he be wining and dining with all the glitterati at a Centenary celebration under these circumstances? Certainly no.
3. In the past few weeks, the polity has been assaulted with putrid odour of corruption with the alleged $20 billion missing in NNPC, a development that became the Archilles heel of Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the suspended Governor of Central Bank. As an anti-corruption activist, if he were to be alive, our late father would have confronted the issue head-long and possibly gone to court. With the issue still raging, would our late father have accepted this award at this critical moment? Certainly no.
4. Our late father was unrepentantly for the UNITY of Nigeria. However, with the level of profligacy in some of the events celebrating NIGERIA’S Centenary, our late father would have preferred these multi- million Naira expenditures chanelled to our decrepit Teaching hospitals, than unproductive razzmatazz that do not improve the Socio-Economic well being of our people.
Sir, for these reasons, our family respectfully declines to receive the award about to be conferred on our late father by the government.
Please, accept the assurances of our highest consideration. Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
(Signed)
Mohammed Fawehinmi
(For and on behalf of late Gani Fawehinmi family)

TOP 10 LEADING FARMS IN NIGERIA.

 According to Nairaland.

OLUSEGUN OBASANJO (OBASANJO FARM)
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo is not only a retired army officer, former head of state and politician, he is also a successful farmer. He owns Ota Farm, which is also called Obasanjo Farms. The large farm was formally opened on October 8, 1979, a week after Obasanjo handed over power to a civilian administration on October 1, 1979. At inception, the farm took off as Temperance Enterprises Limited (Farming Venture). It later became Obasanjo Farms Nigeria Limited.

ABDULSALAMI ABUBABAKAR (MAIZUBE FARMS)
What makes General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) significant today in Nigeria and beyond is not just his successful military career or the fact that he willingly handed over power to a democratically elected government in 1999 to usher in the Fourth Republic. He has a stake in the Nigerian agricultural sector, being the owner of Maizube Farms Limited, which is helping to cater for the food needs of many Nigerians today.

Maizube Farms Limited is located at Km 26, Minna-Bida Road, Minna, Niger State, where General Abubakar is from. The 500-hectare multi product farm has both livestock and crop sections and today, it is proudly one of the stable sources of crop and animal products upon which Nigerians depend for food and other uses.

MURTALA NYAKO (SEBORE FARMS)
Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako (rtd), the executive governor of Adamawa State may be more popular from the political perspective to many, but he is one of the most successful Nigerian farmers today. Few know that he is the owner of Sebore Farms in Mayo-Belwa, Adamawa State.
Murtala Nyako was born at Mayo-Belwa, to Alhaji Hamman-Yero, a notable merchant and Hajiya Maryam Daso who was keen on Islamic studies and herbal medicine, on August 27, 1943.
Nyako was born a cattle owner, as his mother had been allocated some cows for her offspring before his birth. So he started what has snowballed into an integrated commercial farm today as a cattle farm. Even throughout his career, in the Navy and in politics, Nyako was never distracted from developing and expanding his coast in the agricultural sector, the result of which is his success story today.

USMAN DANTATA Jr. (ANADARIYA FARMS)
The young and enterprising Usman Dantata Jr., who is married to Rukaiya Indimi, daughter of multi-billionaire Borno businessman Mohammed Indimi, is the president/CEO of Anadariya Farms. The large poultry farm, which is located in Tiga, Bebeji local government area of Kano State, was started by the late business sage of Kano, Alhaji Usman Sanusi Dantata of the Dantata dynasty, in the 1960s. Anadariya Farms thrived well in poultry produce. For instance, it was noted for exporting poultry birds and eggs to Saudi Arabia twice a week using a Boeing 747 plane.
However, after decades of activity, the farm experienced some challenges and stopped operations until recently, when Dantata Jr. came on board and injected viability into the large farm. The CEO came with refined vigour, to ensure the farm maintains a successful track record.
He has a background in investment and banking and was a trader of various commodities in Europe before coming back to Nigeria. He also has a certificate in feed production and broiler management obtained in North Carolina.
Suffice it to say that he had equipped himself with the necessary training before stepping into the business.

SIR JOSEPH I.A ARUMEMI-IKHIDE (OJEMAI FARMS)
Another modern farm with high level of activity and making great impact within the nation’s agricultural space is Ojemai Farms Limited owned by Ojemai Holdings. The farm, which is located in Edo State and owned by Sir J.I.A. Arumemi-Ikhide, the chairman of Arik Air, was established in 1984 with interest tilting towards livestock production. It took off as a local producer of pork and turkey meat. However, as years past by and business expanded in the farm, there was the need for expansion of scope of operations.
This led to new interest in production of broiler, catfish, fish fingerling and other forms of animal produce. The farm has grown to become one of the biggest farms in Nigeria and one of the nation’s prides in the agricultural sector.

ARINZE ONEBUNNE (JOVANA FARMS)
Prince Arinze Onebunne is the successful managing consultant and CEO of Jovana Farms, located in Mushin, Lagos. Onebunne specialises in the farming of animals such as grasscutters (greater cane rats), rabbits, quail, antelope, guinea pigs and fish, and so on. His high profile level of animal farming has taken him to over 30 states in Nigeria and to other countries as a seminar facilitator, advocate, training personnel and empowerment speaker.
The founder of Jovana Farms is also at the vanguard of modern fish and livestock farming in Nigeria, which is considered a fast growing and lucrative subsector of the nation’s economy today.
With his vast experience and engagement in training and mentoring prospective animal farmers, he earns millions of naira not only from sales of animal products, but also from consultancy charges. Onebunne also carries out feasibility research, site survey and farm construction projects, as part of his professional services.

DR OLATUNDE AGBATO (ANIMAL CARE SERVICES KONSULT)
Dr Olatunde Agbato, a veterinary doctor, is the founder and president/CEO of Animal Care Services Konsult. Agbato, a graduate of the University of Ibadan (UI), became a viable player in the agricultural sector with the establishment of the company known commonly by its shortened name, Animal Care. The company has interests in commercial poultry production, commercial livestock feed milling, aquaculture, manufacturing, and procurement and distribution of animal health products. The company also undertakes provision of expert services for people with interest in animal farming, but who lack the know-how.
Animal Care was founded in 1979 and is located in Ogere Remo, Ogun State. The company concentrates majorly on poultry and veterinary services. It has continued to grow and has a subsidiary called Funtuna Farms, which is a poultry farming operation unit. Furthermore, it has a fish farm operation unit. Agbato has over the years distinguished himself as a veterinary doctor cum farmer. He is a fellow of the College of Veterinary Surgeons of Nigeria; fellow, Farm Management Association of Nigeria; member, International Egg Commission, and has received many awards of recognition. Agbato is, indeed, one of the farmers who have sown under the sun and can now reap their harvests.

ABDULLAHI ADAMU (NAGARI INTEGRATED DAIRY FARM)
Nagari Integrated Dairy is one of the farms currently being operated in the country on a commercial level. It is reputed to be one of the largest single integrated dairy farms in Africa. It covers 1,200 hectares of land and has 7,000 Holstein cattle. In view of the quality of the products it churns out, the claim that it is among the top suppliers of high quality farm and dairy products in Africa is justified.
Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, a former governor of Nasarawa State and now a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is the man behind Nagari
Integrated Dairy Farm. Although his fame on the political scene has overshadowed his agricultural exploits,
Abdullahi can be described as an ccomplished farmer. The success story of Nagari Integrated Farm is the result of the enterprising nature of this farmer, lawyer, engineer, technocrat and consummate politician.
Over the years, Nagari Integrated Dairy has invested in research and development, and in state-of-the-art dairy farming technology. The company has developed its own proprietary dairy farming expertise and methodologies.
This has made it a benchmark for the efficient production of high quality dairy products.

ALHAJI WAHAB IYANDA FOLAWIYO (FOLAWIYO FARMS LIMITED)
Folawiyo Farms Limited, located on Yinka Folawiyo Avenue, Apapa, Lagos, was incorporated on October 4, 1985. It carries out integrated agricultural production, with branches in several states in Nigeria. It is owned by renowned business tycoon, philanthropist and the Baba Adinni of Nigeria, the late Alhaji Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo.
In matters concerning agriculture, Folawiyo Farms stands tall in all aspects. They are into livestock farming, fish farming, flour milling, agro-chemical production and distribution, agricultural consultancy, development and engineering, production and supply of agro- pesticides, farm tools, fertiliser services, horticulture, and so on.
Folawiyo’s journey to greatness began back in 1957 when he founded Yinka Folawiyo and Sons Limited, an import and export business empire that includes holdings in shipping, banking, construction, agriculture and energy. It is therefore not out of proportion to say Folawiyo’s business concerns traverse the entire length and breadth of the Nigerian economic terrain.

PETER ADENIYI (ANU-OLUWA FARMS)
Mr Peter Adeniyi, perhaps, did not understand fully the fortunes he was sowing to harvest when he founded Anu-Oluwa Farms in Ibadan, the ancient capital city of Oyo State. The farm, which has special interest in poultry and egg production for the Nigerian market, has become one of the largest farms in Nigeria.
The farm also sells livestock feeds and materials, table eggs, day-old chicks, point of lays, fish and fish fingerlings and livestock vaccines. Adeniyi is one of the most successful farmers in Nigeria.

JANET JACKSON HEADS FOR DIVORCE???

After just one year of wedlock Janet Jackson plans to divorce her billionaire hubby, Wassam Al Mana.
This is what the National Enquirer says:

From The National Enquirer
“Janet is ready to throw in the towel,” disclosed an insider. “She’s realized she made a colossal mistake in marrying Wissam. Janet gave up her career to be a dutiful wife – and she even took up Islam for him.”
But Wissam,39, who comes for the Middle Eastern State of Qatar, hasn’t made any sacrifices for his 47-year-old wife, according to the insider, who adds: “He travels constantly for work, and Janet wonders if he’s been tempted to stray.”
“She’s confided to a few close friends and (her mother) that she’s preparing to leave him. And she’s been calling friends at all hours, crying and saying how miserable she is.”
As the Enquirer reported Wissam had demanded Janet sign a prenup. She wanted a guaranteed $500 million if the marriage failed before two years, but Wissam held out and said he wouldn’t pay her a dime unless it lasted at least five years.
Now sources say Janet is getting set to challenge the prenup and demand a fat lump sum payout from his fortune. “Her argument is that she gave up millions in earnings for her husband,” explained the insider. “Janet isn’t going to give Wissam a dime of her hard-earned cash. However, she’s going to fight tooth and nail for a chunk of his!”

  • Nawa for una...una no dey give peace a chance???
  • Abi una tink say marriage na PICNIC?

LETS SHARE THIS EYE-OPENING PIECE BY SAHARA REPORTERS...WHICH I KNOW IS NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!!!

  • Please note that this PRACTICE has become a Nigerian Epidemic, which constitutes a stumbling block for progress...especially of our youths, and future leaders.
  • Almost every Ministry and Parastatal is involved in this big SCAM....backed up by the rich and powerful people in government.
  • A typical example is the NDLEA (a very sensitive Agency) which has fielded and retained the same geriatric Chairman/Chief Executive for the 9th year running....with nothing to show for it.
  • It is a case of Winner Takes All (HIGHEST BIDDER)...regardless of whether you are competent. Our despicable 'WETTIN YOU CARRY CULTURE.'
  • Let no man out there be deceived that our Ministers are chosen according to qualifications and competence....ennn ennn. Na so so WOOROO WOOROO. Dats why dey cannot perform.
  • My people, HOW CAN WE MOVE 4WARD???
  • Please Read, and make up your own mind!!!

By SaharaReporters, New York
Some 45 directors at the federal ministry of foreign affairs have colluded with the highly corrupt Attorney General of the federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke and the supervising minister of foreign affairs, Professor Viola Onwuliri to frustrate their retirement from plum foreign ambassadorial positions in a situation that may yet redefine retirement of federal civil servants in Nigeria.
The AGF interfered in their retirement after receiving hefty sums of bribe money from the career civil servants.
AGF Adoke, who is one of the most remarkably corrupt ministers in the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan, issued a memo to the president requesting that 45 directors who are currently acting as ambassadors in several foreign missions who had earlier retired in December 2013 after completing an 8 year tenure be recalled to continue as directors.
The directors had been asked to proceed on retirement according to a federal civil service directive, but a source knowledgeable about their plot to sit tight in power told SaharaReporters that the directors, instead of retiring met and contributed millions of naira which was passed to the AGF and minister of justice Adoke, who then advised them to sue the federal government to frustrate their retirement and removal from their plum positions.
After receiving the bribe, Mr. Adoke then reportedly recommended to the 45 directors lawyers that would file a lawsuit in Abuja to the ambassadors.

Soon as the ambassadors filed a bizarre lawsuit he wrote a strong memo to President Jonathan asking that he recalls the directors pending the determination of the lawsuit, last week President Jonathan reversed the retirement of the 45 director based on Mr. Adoke’s recommendation, however, the federal civil service commission rejected his legal advice saying it portends danger for the civil service as more civil servants would engage in such acts of insubordination to frustrate their retirement from service.
President Jonathan then turned to the supervising minister of foreign affairs, Professor Viola Onwuliri to carry out to the order.
With few hours left in the position, Mrs. Onwuliri then requested the permanent secretary in the ministry to implement Attorney General Adoke’s advice but the Permanent Secretary reportedly refused the directive citing the position of the federal Civil service commission on the matter and urging the minister to recall the directors to Abuja while the minister of justice is pressured to fight the lawsuits.
Our sources stated that since Mrs. Onwuliri was part of the scam she bypassed the Permanent Secretary by issuing a poorly worded telex riddled with spelling errors to foreign missions asking that the missions maintain the “ status quo ante”  by retaining the retired directors at their respective positions. The telex a copy of which was obtained by SaharaReporters had to be corrected in some instances with a red pen.
Mrs. Onwuliri hurriedly sent the telex instead of waiting for the new minister ministry to properly interpret the AGF’s directive. Her action was described as  a breach protocol according to our sources.
Mrs. Onwuliri is expected to be replaced by a new minister of foreign affairs; Ambassador Aminu Wali, who is currently Nigeria’s ambassador to China.
The Nigerian Senate cleared Wali yesterday after President Jonathan nominated him as minister early this year.

SULEIMAN ADOKWU SAYS APC IS 'ANGRY PEOPLE'S CONGRESS'!!!

Senator-aDOKWE

THIS IS AN INTERESTING INTERVIEW GRANTED BY A SENATOR FROM NASARAWA STATE TO THE VANGUARD NEWSPAPERS.

In this interview, Senator Suleiman Adokwe representing Nasarawa South speaks on the defection of some  members of the Peoples Democratic Party  (PDP) to the  opposition All Progressive Congress (APC). He also speaks  on the chances of the PDP not only at the presidential election  in 2015 but also in other  elections.
Excerpts:
There are issues in the polity and people  fear  they are  capable of causing problems in the country. Why do you think the system is so heated?
Usually, when we approach the election year, we have all this heating up of the polity. It is a recurrent decimal in the political activities of the country but this one is a bit unusual because of the  stress that is being put on the polity by the various movements  and the repositioning of the various political parties preparatory to the 2015 elections.
Some of the things that have become issues really ought not to be issues but the struggle for power has become more intensely, uncivilised  if you add  the  issue  like somebody should  run or not run for the  presidency,  or the leadership must go to another region as if we do not have a  Constitution in  place to guide everybody. There are rules and regulations on how to seek power in the country and for a foreclosure to be made that this man cannot run,  power must shift from this place or else heaven will fall,  we have never  witnessed this kind of undue pressure on the polity.
We are witnessing a new dimension to politicking, which is regrouping, personalising the polity in terms of who can rule and who is supposed to be excluded when the  Constitution and Electoral Act  provide  the rules for who can qualify and who cannot qualify. So you work in accordance with those rules, not some imaginary interests  and then you foreclose someone, or you foreclose a region, or you foreclose some  party and cling to the bargain that the  heavens  would fall.
Some of the languages that we hear these days are so  frightful, they are virtually an invitation to anarchy. This is what makes it a little bit different from what has been happening in the past, but we believe  those  are the usual preparations for elections and that we should allow ourselves to get to the elections proper.
Some people have argued that  the failure of your party, the  PDP , to  provide  good governance  is responsible for the problems in the country. Do you share this perspective?
The people saying so are the people who left the PDP for the APC. Some of them were governors for more than eight  years and they had opportunities to do those things  they are kicking against and so, I find it hypocritical for someone who has been in power  since the inception of this administration or since the inception of the new dispensation, the fourth republic, to turn a round to say nothing has been done.
How on earth will somebody like  former Vice President Atiku have moral justification to say PDP has not done anything when he was in power  for eight  years and he was  a founding  member of  the PDP.  Or  the former governors who ruled for eight  years, some of them are in the Senate, what moral justification  do  they have to condemn  the  PDP?
Even some of  the founding members of APC who  have been in government since the inception of this administration,  the governor of Kano State for example,  this is the second time he is governing, he was a minister of defence; so  since 1999 he has been in the government of PDP until  he defected.  If it is the ordinary Nigerian people who voted for all of us  who now feel  they are fed up with  the PDP come 2015,  it is their prerogative to vote out the party,  but not somebody who has been in the corridors of power  all along to turn around to say nothing has happened; it is only in Nigeria you can get that kind of talk .
Don’t you think that the defection of senators and  governors portends ill  for the PDP in 2015, it may affect  its  chances.?.
Political movement naturally will affect your chances one way or the other, nobody wants somebody who is with him to leave, even in ordinary marital divorce.. Of course PDP  is not pretending to say that this has not hurt, it hurts; that is why certain changes had to be made.
We now have a new Chairman of the party who is going all out to reinvent the party and to reposition the party to recover from the shocks of defections here and there. Today,  we are even having people from APC defecting back to  the PDP,  that is a sign of recovery. It is our hope that before the year runs out, we would have stabilised and positioned to face the elections  in 2015.
What is your reaction to the directive by the APC to its members in the National  Assembly that they should not work on the budget and other executive bills?
The language of  the APC is not  democratic; the  language  is an invitation to anarchy, to chaos. In the National Assembly, debates take place,  vested interests are protected in the course of  debates. Bills get thrown out, bills get supported and this happens  every day;  even PDP legislators can find out something in the budget that they wouldn’t want  to sail through, but you don’t set out right from day one to say that no matter how good or bad  that bill is, make sure it is thrown out.
The purpose of law making is to make a good law for the good governance of the country. If there are inherent distortions in the budget that do not reflect the interest of  the APC, it is for their legislators to see how those interests can be addressed in the budget, but, under all circumstances, there is the need for a budget to be in place so that development can take place.
The American democracy which is the example that we copy from, where sometimes they get to the point of a shut down,  the whole nation rises up to condemn Congress  and,  for the APC  to call  that its MPs  should  shut down the economy, it is not sensitive to the yearnings and aspirations of the ordinary people.
Now and fortunately, the system in Nigeria is not the same with America in the sense that our Constitution provides for  the President to run the country based on the previous budget for a period of six months and two third of the budget in subsequent months until the budget is passed; so the President may even have a better deal if you refuse to pass the bill, he will simply implement the budget of the previous year and then you will not even be in the position to deal with it again because there is no real law in place except that he has a constitutional right to spend as much as he spent in the previous financial year; so I don’t know the purpose  they seek out to achieve other than create political chaos in the country.
I think they have seen the futility of it, they have seen that the ordinary people don’t think they should go to that extreme. By saying  security  should be shut down, you are saying  people should resort to self- help. Indeed, one governor directed that people should resort to-self help. How can you be a sitting governor and direct that people should resort to self- help?
The purpose for which government is put in place first and foremost is to provide welfare and security.  If you are a sitting governor and you now directing people to go for  self- help, you are negating the principles of state and state power, the purpose that we have a government. If  government cannot do that anymore, then government has  no reason to exist.
The time table released by the Independent National Electoral Commission which places  the presidential election  before other elections has generated some controversy.  Do you think INEC is justified in its decision? The INEC acted in accordance with the Electoral  Act. What  does the Act say? In the last amendment, the national election of the President and the National Assembly came first; that was what happened in the last elections and the Act has not been amended.
