The Lagos State Government have come out, AT LAST, to say the 4th Mainland Bridge idea may not be realisable because of 'financial and compassionate' reasons. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ben Akabueze, who said this year's budget is aimed at ERADICATING POVERTY, not causing poverty!!! He said the previous alignment of the bridge is 8 kilometres, which would cost the State about N320 billion, and amount to the demolition of about 320 homes along its path. To construct a kilometre of the bridge costs N40 billion, and if you add that to the cost of demolition of houses, it is obviously not worth going through.

- It is generally known as a KALOKALO (chop-me-dry) State...but nice to know dat someone in d name of Akabueze (Igboman) is thinking differently from some other Lagosian SHYLOCKS in government.
