While recently appearing before a House of Representative Committee on Banking and Currency, the Central Bank Governor, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, claims that he wants to 're-design' our Naira Notes in order to help tackle the problems of fake currency notes in the country!!!
- Hey Mr Mallam....ITK dey worry you. Our problem is not the 'Currency Notes'..but the 'criminals' who are faking it....mallams from your part of the country. There is no currency notes in the world dat cannot be replicated or faked, as you call it. The main thing is to put in place structures to PREVENT and DETECT those doing it...like your rich mallams and Bureau de Change barons.
- All you want to do is CHOP during your own regime in office, bcos dis involves yanfunyanfun contracts, and international deals. We have seen it before...nothin new under the Nigerian sun.
