Abu Quatada, the hate preacher and one-time right hand man to Osama Bin Ladin, is finally to be booted out of Britain, hopefully by Sunday. His controversial court case has cost the British tax payers £2 million, mainly in fighting deportation back to his home country, Jordan. He had claimed he would not get a fair trial in Jordan, because some of the evidence used against him may have been obtained by torture. However, breakthrough came yesterday, when Jordan adopted a treaty that will protect Quatada's human rights. Prior to now, Quatada had said he is prepared to go back and face trial concerning his alleged involvement in a bomb plot, if his human rights can be guaranteed.
For some time now, Abu Quatada has been a thorn in the flesh of the British Government. He is notorious for his radical Islamic views, and unrepentant hate preaching in public arenas.
