MEND, The Movement For The Emancipation of The Niger Delta, has claimed that it received the sum of $200,000 before the release of the kidnapped sister of President Jonathan's Special Adviser on Research, Strategy, and Documentation, Oronto Douglas. It would be recalled that the kidnappers initially asked for the sum of N500 million. This statement was released by the MEND Spokesperson, Jomo Gbomo, to refute the earlier claim by the Douglas family that nothing was paid for her release!!!
