The Paramount Ruler and Monarch of Esit Eket Local Government of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, Edidem Assam, was kidnapped midnight Tuesday in a Commando-Style Operation by 30 heavily armed gun-men. He was whisked to Unyeghe Village, Mbo Local Government in a car, where he was bundled into a waiting Speed-Boat, before vanishing into the High-Seas. It is said that the kidnapping is not unconnected to the N2.6 billion that was recently paid to four Host Local Communities by ExxonMobil, which has been generating controversy. The audacious kidnappers are asking for a N150 million RANSOM. The local Police say they are ON TOP OF THE SITUATION!!!
