Communal clashes in Ajamita area of Warri North Council, Delta State, has left three youths and an elderly man dead. About 35 houses were also set ablaze at the Gbokoda, Ajamita and Udo riverine communities bordering the Atlantic Ocean, by rampaging Ijaw youths. The attacks took place at around 5.00am yesterday, leaving the Itshekiri people at the receiving end. An Ijaw Egbema Community Leader, Chief Emma Ebimami, while condemning the attack claims that he cannot rule out the fact that some disgruntled Itshekiri youths probably invited the Ijaw youths to come and foment trouble in their community. For some time now, there has been series of leadership tussle within the Itshekiri community. Police is investigating the matter.
- Nawa...dis 'Oshare' (wataside) people. Una never settle una differences all dis years?
- Well..una no get choice, but to live together as brodas and sisters. The only 'square pegs' (excuse my french) wey I see in dat una State na d so-called Mid Western Ibos...(d Asaba, Uguashuku people...shuku shuku people). My opinion is dat dey should have their own State. I don't mean it in any derogatory way. Dey would have done better to be across d Niger in the first place, but I kno say d real Igboman no go accept dem. Even sef dey no accept Onitsha people, so what are we talking.
- But as for d rest... weda u be Ijaw o...hennnn...U be Itshekiri o..hennn...U be Ilaje o.....all of d rest people be d same brodas and sisters. When una fight, una must to settle am.
- Se una see say dat awa Nigeria na different nationalities full am...nawa o.
