Professor Festus Iyayi, the former ASUU President died in a moto-crash yesterday along Lokoja Road. He was on his way to Kano to participate in an ASUU Executive Council Meeting when the mini-bus he was traveling in was hit by another vehicle in the convoy of the Kogi State Governor. The Kogi State Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission has blamed the Professor's death on wrongful overtaking by a vehicle in the convoy of Governor Idris Wada. It would be recalled that this is not the first time the Governor's convoy is involved in reckless killing of innocent road users.
