There is abundant evidence to show that South African Companies and Businesses have set up shops only to rip off Nigerians, in Nigeria. It is a sad tale of undue exploitation. The disparity in prices, price differentials, and quality of services especially in consumer products is glaringly clear, compared to what obtains in their own country. From Shoprite, to Chicken Republic, to Massmart (Game), Mr. Price, Woolworth, and Truworths, the story is the same. Our MTN charges are the highest rates in the world for cellular phone calls, and most of its employees are casual or temporary workers, denied any form of trade unionism. DSTV accounts for 90% of those that watch satellite TV in Nigeria. Despite this unnecessary flight of our capital, South Africa's population is only 50 million, compared to Nigeria's 170 million. Also the earning power of the average South African is more than four times that of his Nigerian counterpart.
From the foregoing, it is obvious that South Africa does not 'give a toss' about other African countries in business parlance/practices, as it viciously wades/barges its way through an expansionist policy designed to relegate all other countries on the African continent. However it is general knowledge that Nigeria's porous government policies have served to worsen this plight, and create the platform for this imperialism/modern day colonialism.
