A nine-member kidnap syndicate responsible for the kidnap of the Ejigbo Local Government boss, Mr. Kehinde Bamigbetan, have been smashed by Lagos State Police. In a bid to arrest them at their Agbara, Ogun State hide-out, seven of them were killed in a gun battle. The group, based in Ghana, is led by one Jonah Benjamin Osinachi. They are said to have collected the sum of $100,000 for the release of the Local Government boss. An Indian national was rescued in the process, while several arms and ammunition were recovered. The dead leader of the group is known to be erecting a mighty mansion in Ghana.
