The Lagos State Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, has been re-arraigned on a 54-count criminal charge of money laundering and corruption, along with his Personal Assistant, Oyebode Alade Atoyebi. His case was recently re-assigned to Justice Ibrahim Buba, following the retirement of Justice Okechucku Okeke, the former judge handling it. They have been accused of transacting business to the tune of N518million without going through any financial institutions between 2010 and 2011. The Speaker and his PA pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
