Pa Benedict Odiase, the Composer of the Nigerian National Anthem is dead. Odiase died last night in his sleep. Before retiring from the Nigerian Police, he was a Deputy Commissioner and Director of Music.
He composed the National Anthem, 'Arise O Compatriot....' in May, 1978.
