The Federal Government has issued Julius Berger a letter of intent, which would authorize them to start preliminary work on the building of the long-awaited 2nd Niger Bridge. This will include soil-testing, and engineering designs, according to Wolfgang Goetsch, the Managing Director of Julius Berger. According to him, it is to be built under the private public partnership agreement, and will be the first of its kind in Nigeria.
At its recent Annual General Meeting Julius Berger declared a profit before tax of N12.34 billion for the year 2012, as opposed to the N9.93 billion recorded in the previous year. Profit after tax stood at N8.02 billion, as opposed to the previous N4.41 billion. Julius Berger is responsible for the Admiralty/Alexander Link Bridge in Lagos, and several mega projects in Akwa Ibom State.
