The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has threatened to disconnect all unregistered SIMs from today. Since 2011, they had in conjunction with Telecom Operators in Nigeria, embarked on collation, harmonization, and authentication of all subscriber identification modules. This was intended to effectively monitor telecommunications activities nation-wide, and thereby cut down on phone-related crimes also.
- Dis na serious wahala for those living abroad o...you go just land Nigeria, and your fone go make 'hoooooo'. No show.
- Even sef dat registration exercise no work 100%, cos Naija people dey sabi bend rules too much. Some people sef use dem house boys to go register d damn tin. Abi wettin concern big man with siddon for inside sun dey register wettin? Abegii 4getii. And again how many people give dem real address sef? Did the telecom companies verify any addresses? Make una dey deceive una selves. there.
- On d bright side, if it can be used to quell phone crimes, then it will be great. Bcos all dis yeye kidnappers..na cell fones sim card dem dey buy off the street to conduct their dastardly act, after which dem go throway am.
