In a bid to fixing the horrendous Lagos roads, Governor Fashola, on Thursday, commissioned the Lagos State Paving Stone Production Line, under the State Public Works at Ojodu, Lagos. Fashola said it is part of the creativity and resourcefulness of his government in keeping Lagos State 'motorable'. He highlighted the fact that the Plant will engage in production of interlocking paving stones, which will solve the road problems in waterlogged areas, where asphalt and bitumen have failed. The 'action governor' said that, 'But for me having bought this machine, the next step is how we are going to make this machine. I have already challenged the engineers, the next of these machines must be made in Lagos and they have the research funds, and all those materials, and we are not just going to be consuming. Everything we buy now, we want to know what works inside, and how it works'.
- Oga Fash...I admire your enthusiasm and dexterity. But I hope these machines will not end up in the scrap yard (for further journey to China), as usual. Chinese people dey look for scrap metals for Lagos..no be small. Warn your engineers make dem no go flog the so called Plant o.
- On a better note it is hightime we start using our brains. Bitumen no dey work for awa side. Dis Paving stone na d korrect tin, but the tin too cost. Hopefully, your Plant will sell to private individuals too.
- I remember, last year, picking a quote of N950k from a local cowboy just to do paving stone for my drive-way in Lagos. Ee no easy to be landlord for Lagos o, and yet tenants go dey complain. Anyway we go tok dat wan next time.
- Up FASH...But Fash, dis yeye Property Tax wey you dey charge landlords for Lagos to much oooo. You forget say one day, you yoursef go come join us when you commot State House. OK..We dey wait you.
