Culled from Vanguard.
A medical practitioner/proprietor of a Home in Aba, Abia State has been arrested by the State Command of the Directorate of States Service (DSS), for engaging in a 'baby factory'. A total of 16 pregnant girls ranging from between 17 to 35 years of age were resqued from the Home, known as Cross Foundation International, located along Anyamele Street, Umungasi area of Aba. Most of the cases were unwanted pregnancies from women who are prepared to exchange their babies for a sum of money.
The proprietor, Dr. Hyginus Ndudim Orikara, maintained that he was running a legitimate NGO for helping women to 'nurse' their babies properly. However, news has it that the women were given a paltry sum of N50,000, and sent away after birth. This is basically a modern-day, 'baby factory', whereby babies are sold to people in different parts of the country.
- Nawa. Ego n'ne? Wettin Naija no go do for money?
- Bottom line is for government to improve our Health Services.
