The Home Secretary to the British Conservative Ruling Party, Theresa May, has indicated that they intend to 'get serious about cutting immigration and abuse of the system'. To this end, Britain is planning to force visitors from India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Ghana to pay the sum of £3,000 ($4,600) before being issued a six-month visa. The above countries are deemed to pose 'high risk' to immigration in the UK, and will therefore be used as pilot scheme, starting November. This cash bond will be paid before entering the UK, and the money forfeited if the visitor over-stays his visa period.
