Kabiru Umar, alias Kabiru Sokoto has said he has no case to answer. The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, yesterday, set the 21, June, as the day to determine the fate of the alleged architect of the 2011 Christmas Day Bombing that killed 45 persons, and wounded 75 others at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State. Kabiru Sokoto maintained, through his lawyers, that the Federal Government has failed to establish a prima-facie case, sufficient enough to convict him.
Sokoto was said to be a kinpin of the dreaded Boko Haram Islamist/Terrorist Sect, and is alleged to have trained over 500 men on how to manufacture and detonate UEDs (Imprvised Explosive Devices). It would be recalled that his sensational arrest in January 2012, sparked a trail of controversy, when Police declared him missing two days after arrest. This was partly responsible for the sack of the former IG of Police, Hafiz Ringim, and the outright dismissal of the then Commisioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Zakari Biu. Sokoto was later rearrested on 10 February, 2012.
- Hmm...Sokoto must be thanking his God for the existence of Democracy, Civil Rights, and Rule of Law. If na military period, you for don become statistics.
- After all dat massacre, and mindless killing of innocent people? What on earth can justify it?
- Meanwhile dem say na d same God we all dey serve? O boy...I no tink so o.
